meh, i'm going to go with the theory that is based on gases causing a blanket effect on our planet........seeing as how we allready knoew certain gases have already used this effect to make our atmosphere

You have quite the ego to think your're smarter than a group of 17,000 scientists with doctorate's. Seeing as you're still in high school and all.

There's also a large of group of scientists who back up that theory, he didn't make it up himself. It's impossible for us to know which one is more true, if scientists can't even figure it out. His and my guess is that the theory that says that emissions are causing global warming is more accurate, you think the other theory is right. That has nothing to do with ego, just personal opinions.

Well first off it says that 7,677 of the scientists are from related fields. The rest has some "training" at some point or another. I'm willing to bet they took a geology course or a biology course at some point in their post-secondary education, and that constitutes training.

Upon review of those who were one of the nearly 10,000 "scientists" who had "training" I decided to look up a few of them just to see what it was they do...

Roger L. Aamodt - from the National Cancer Institute.
M. Robert Aaron - Electrical Engineer (not to mention he's 80 years old)
Ralph F. Abate - Engineer
Ursula K Abbott - Poultry Scientist
Philip H Abelson - discovered Neptunium, and helped in the Manhattan Project, (90 years old)
John Abrams - Cell Biologist.

Not only this but of the first 20 people on the list, only 8 have PhDs. For most of those 20 I was unable to find any information about them, or any literature written by them. Of those first 20 only 3 or 4 actually could have passed as semi-qualified because they were either chemists or biologists in an unspecified field.
I added the ages of the two men because I felt it was relevent to them signing the petition. I doubt global warming is of interest to a man who helped in the creation of the Atomic Bomb. I doubt he could explain what global warming is. The other man helped in the construction of trans-Atlantic communications. How that relates to Global Warming I really don't know.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

the theory of global warming remains an untested hypothesis. as a graduate of jr. high school science 9, i can assure you that untested hypothesis' are not scientific facts. i can further assure you that without some sort of experiment being conducted, all beliefs held by any scientist one way or the other on global warming is mere speculation and as such, not reasonable grounds for any leglislative action.

it is very easy to create a correlation between two things. for example, 5/6 of the last times i have had sex on a day, no troops were killed in iraq. i therefore, present to you a theory with as much scientific worth as global warming. as such, i expect you to recommend a law which dictates that i get as much sex as possible to reduce troop casualties in iraq.

or, perhaps we all take a second to remember that there is a lot of money to be made by ecological scare mongering as well as by oil and gasoline companies. i do not trust any information on global warming unless it is supported by some sort of scientifcally verifiable information.
