Oh my god, are you serious? The man I'm going to marry goes therethirdhour wrote:Go Okanagan College.
I didn't even bother applying anywhere else.
I don't understand how you all can afford to leave home for first year. How the hell do you pay for tuition and res?
Anyone else apply to university this year?

I realized today that the program I applied for is all wrong for me. I have been in serious denial.

That's what I got too.
But, my parents might be buying an investment property or something of the sorts, so I might be in serious luck.

It's a sweet deal, really. Go for it.
(I'm just worried about getting in right now)

I don't know. I just kind of realized that it's only my safety net because I was too afraid to admit to myself that I wanted to go into history/political science. My parents always told me it was pretty much dead end unless I intended on being a teacher ... so I did what I needed to please them. And, I regret it so.

I'm a politics and psych major, and let me tell you that there are a lot of things you can do with a politics degree, and in fact it is probably one of the most stable jobs because if you worked for the government in some capacity you know the government will never shut down.
Paying all this money to do something you don't want to do is pointless. If you're going into a program just to please your parents you're doing it for the wrong reasons and are going to live a life that is not yours. The fact is that you're an adult and can make your own decisions, and I know that if my parents didn't support my choices I would tell them that it is too bad because that is what I want to do. It is not rebelling. It is your life.

I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

Totally true. My mother is always telling me to get a job with the government. And I ssy well what sort of major do I need for that? Uhhhhhhhh. Yeah.I'm a politics and psych major, and let me tell you that there are a lot of things you can do with a politics degree, and in fact it is probably one of the most stable jobs because if you worked for the government in some capacity you know the government will never shut down.
I'm sort of a late bloomer. I'm just now starting to do things for myself and not for everyone else.
