3 Doors Down new album

Post by Clumsy_Birdman »

Sporting a very different look and apparently edgier sound, 3 Doors Down are gonna hit the shelves with "Seventeen Days" on February 8th 2005...

such a cool CD cover, very unlike them... reminds me of a Goo Goo Dolls sleeve[/b]

I really don't like their new song...........its basically the same as their other stuff........a little edgier maybe.........but still not good. And the lyrics just bug me.

Are they going to make the Walmart deadline in their contract or whatever?

That was 3 Doors Down right?

I like 3DD. They provide good background music for meeting OLP.

at how mediocre they are?

OLP can be a good band with insightful lyrics, good melodies........they show passion and humanity in their music.

3DD show none of this really. They produce generic rock tunes and sometimes show hints of showing some insight, but instead play to what the masses might like as opposed to personal edgy lyrics and metaphors.

Even their sound is pretty bad.....the day that they release a good song will surprise me........I'm not writing them off.........they just haven''t proved themselves after Kryptonite was so big.........its been the same shit since.

i saw 3DD live. they played right before olp at a rock festival here.
i must say, it was rather impressive. they're a very good live band.
i like their songs. true, they might not be the most insightful things ever, but they're nice to just listen to when you're in a no-brainer kind of mood.

Not as far as I can roll mine back. And, to answer my own question, yes they did meet their Wal-Mart date.

http://www.billboard.com/bb/daily/artic ... 1000517076

Note, the article was published May 21, 2004.

The release date for the new album, 8 February 2005, is given in that article.

Here are some favorite quotes:
The 3 Doors Down frontman already knows that Feb. 8, 2005, is the release date for the group's next Republic/Universal album. Nevermind [...] the small matter of recording the album still to come.
"We're going to do a really big push with Wal-Mart and some other retailers, and that's when we promised it," Arnold tells Billboard.
I like a few of 3 Doors Down's songs, but seriously you have to expect this kind of thing from them.

I've seen them live twice. Here in the south they are pretty popular, and I think when they play in the south it helps their live show. I'm not a big huge fan of their albums but I do like a couple of their songs, and I would probably see them again in concert.

to be honest i liked "love me when i'm gone" for like a week, until it got way overplayed and i saw an interview with the lead singer, in which he stated that he would have resorted to using nuclear weapons after 9/11.

"When Im Gone"...
frog ur a dick... brad would never use a nuclear weapon!! ever! i know the guy, hes too nice and cool to even think about it. so u aint got a clue what ur talking about

i LOVE 3 Doors Down, they are one of the best live acts ive ever seen. they're awesome musicians and keep the style they fit into alive from way back when. i appreciate them immensly for what they do.

personally, i think 3 doors down are awesome. and Our Lady Peace love to tour and be around them. they make good tour buddies. they're fantastic...
and the soul of this thread was to show everyone their obscure CD cover. which their new album will have. and apparently the new stuff is alot dfrnt and edgier

3DD are great performers live. I've seen them a few times, including on the tour where OLP opened. 3DD have an amazing drummer. To see his solo is reason enough to see them if you're really into drums.

That's one of the stupidest things I've ever read on here. Seriously. The frog was quoting an interview. You can think whatever you want about Brad, but that doesn't mean he didn't say it, and it's no reason to call Reza names.

Meanwhile, I didn't find anything about a nuclear weapon, but this is close:

Jim, your comment was uncalled for. Also, it's fine to enjoy 3DD's music and live show. I enjoyed their live show myself. However, instead of saying that they are the best at this or that please explain what it is that makes them so awesome. Daniel's drum solo is neat, but it hardly qualifies him as the greatest drummer ever. I find it hard to believe that he is that much better than an Elvin Jones, Mitch Mitchell, Buddy Miles, Lars Ulrich, and a whole cast of others. He's good, just not the best of the best. But please no name calling like that. My tolerance level for it is thin.

i cant believe you guys

i was stating my opinion, it was completely my opinion and how i feel about 3 Doors Down. it wasnt an official statement. yeah i apologise for the mild insult. even tho Kermit tbh, really sometimes doesnt have a clue. he doesnt like 3dd coz he confuses them with 3dg? wtf?

i feel i can win and that whatever i say isnt valued at all, its quite sad
