Right now I have a GeForce4 MX440. Can anyone tell me what the equivalent Radeon card would be? I want to know so that I can make sure I get a better card for X-Mas. heh...

The equivalent Radeon card would probably something in the 7200 range.
Just spare yourself the trouble and go right for the 9800.
But don't get the new drivers because they've been accused of frying cards and monitors.
nVIDIA also has a very nice GeForce FX 5900 that could compare to the 9800.

Eep. Probably won't happen...
Maybe a slightly lesser card. I'll indicate that I want the 9800 though.

Well, I put in the word to my dad. He checked it out with our computer guy, and basically laughed at the idea of the 9800. It would have cost roughly $550 installed. But, he's "looking into" getting a lesser one. My guess is that there's a big price jump to the 9800, since it's new, so I can hopefully get a fairly good card (good enough, I hope, to run HL2 without a hitch).
