Is this really the end?

Didn't they say the same type of thing when Gravity was released? They always think that a new album is like "a new begining".

I guess. But Bob Rock frightens me. Who knows what he may do?

BTW, OLP said they were inspired by Metallica's "St. Anger." Holy flying crap, I hope they don't make music like that. I hate that song.

I refuse to vote......simply because I don't look at Our Lady Peace as either new/old. Of course there has been changes in there music, members, etc........but the one thing that still remains and hasn't changed for a SHIT is that I'm still a fan, and no vibes have changed about that.

Good point. I'm not saying I'll stop being a fan, I'm just a little disappointed, that's all. Nothing more than that.

try the veal, its delicious  nah I'm just messin.........seriously though, I can see where Raine would say that they feel like they've done a 580 and changed things, but thats his personal perspective on how the bad has "grown".
Yes, I don't personally care for Bob Rock myself either. But deep down.....you all have to realize that Rock has talent. What he does produces hits, sounds, and makes things work. So what if its not "vintage OLP"???? Aerosmith is one of the greatest, most respected, most recognized bands all time and freakin Bob Rock helped to shape that............you can't blame OLP for moving away from Lanni to see if Rock could work some magic with them.

On the flip hand side.....yes, St. Anger is a freakin TERRIBLE song and I hope to god Rock had less influence on that track then the whack ass band themselves.

well we can't fret about the future until we hear the new cd. So far everyone has seemed to like the new stuff that they've put putting out so it really can't be that bad.

olp themselves must be really excited about the new music they're making coz they've never played this many new tunes live before the album comes out, and as far as I know by the time they're finished recording they'll have recorded 20-22 songs, which is more than they usually do. anyway, my point is, (and I do have one) that when musicians are this pationate about what they're doing I think usually good things come of it.

I am afraid to say that I think I am one of the very few who thinks Bob Rock pulled alot out of the band. Not that Arnold was bad, or anything like that. I honestly feel the band wants to try new things and feel that they are in a point in their careers where it is possible. They aren't forgeting their roots or the pass, but they are moving into the future. I think that is porbably what Raine was trying to say. how the live record was sort of a closing on what th eband accomplished in their careers previously and now they are ready to expand or explore new ideas, new ground. then again, I am not Raine. i can only say that the band has said over and over how excited they are about the new songs and things like that.

YOu have to put everything into perspective. As we get older our goals and needs change. It doesn't mean we forget what got us here, we just move on in new directions. It is a fact of life with anything.

BTW, I like the new Mettalica record. it is old school. I don't think you have to worry about OLP sounding like that. they aren't a metal band. I think Raine meant that he liked how the album was recorded with everyone in the room live as suppose to takes. at least that is how I read into it.

Bob Rock= the devil
He will be the downfall of OLP. As a fan of theirs since the begining I can really see them going downhill. Gravity was not a good effort.....ok.....but not good like Happiness, Clumsy, and Naveed. Our Time is Fading is not a good song at all....can't believe they put it on the Live CD. Not Afraid is good. I do like that one, and Talk is Cheap is somewhere in the middle IMO. Oh well I still have the old stuff, just wish they would produce more of it.

well they could have simply made Clumsy part 2... would we all prefer that they restrict themselves from experimentation? Look at a lot of bands and you'll see huge changes. If you want to see an extreme case look at The Beatles, and they're considered the best band to ever live.

Yeah, I totally agree with what you said, they aren't trying to sound like Mettalica, they just want to record like them.

OLP has the ability to make a album that people can listen to all the way through.

Isnt that good?? Or am I mistaken?
