UN = irrelevant
After the response of France, Russia, Germany, and China yesterday on Colin Powell's presentation I along with many experts believe the UN will become obsolete. 4 months ago when resolution 1441 was UNANIMOUSLY voted into effect all the countries knew what was to happen if Iraq did not cooperate with the inspectors. He has obviously repeatedly defied them. Just the firing on US and British jets in the no fly zone was a material breach of the resolution. A material breach is SUPPOSED to result in immediate consequences. They have also rejected U2 spy planes to fly over and have blocked access to thier scientists. There have been about 5 material breaches of resolution 1441 and yet the UN is still not acting. We will see in the next month the UN becoming irrelevant and folding as the League of Nations did. The US and many other countries will take military action against Iraq in the very near future and the UN will officially be looked at a powerless entity. If the UN doesn't do what it has said it would in the case of a material breach it is just going to cause other rogue states to defy the international community because they will see that the UN won't act against them.

Well at least the head inspectors are getting the point and getting sick of Iraq's games. CNN just reported that when Dr. Blix and Mohamed ElBaradei return to Baghdad this weekend it is to issue a last chance. Blix will report the Iraq response to this next week. Anyone actually think that Saddam will lay out all his weapons by then?? I don't. Looks like this is all gonna come to a head next week and we can solve this whole mess and get rid of Saddam so that the world can move on.

Of course I know the band, seen them 12 times. I'm sure I've been a fan longer than most people here since many here are real young. I feel more like debating critical world issues rather than trivial things like Raines new hair style or whether or not I think Steve is better than Mike (he's no where near the musician Mike is for the record).

Why is government in this country a joke? Do you trust the government of Iraq more? You think they are good and moral people? I don't recall Pres. Bush dropping mustard gas on 10,000 Americans just to test a weapon do you? Sure the US government hides things from the people, but I don't think they do it maliciously. There are things the people of America don't need to know. I'm sure there are terrorist threats out there that we don't know about and shouldn't. It would just cause mass hysteria and make things worse. Its been mentioned that the government recieved a threat about 9/11 but didn't make it public. I ask you what good would it have done to tell the public this? Should we shut the country down everytime there is a threat? Thats what the terrorists want us to do. The point is there is MORE than enough evidence that Iraq is not complying with the UN resolution and they need to be dealt with. It is the right thing to do and only the uninformed or the anti-goverment people out there believe that we should just sit back and let Saddam build up his weapons. If we don't do something now the result will be hundreds times more horrible than the war we are about to embark on.
And to answer your question not everyone here is real young but I know the age of many are between 14-17. Most too young to have been real fans 7 or 8 years ago.

man you just believe what you want to believe.
Enlighten me as to why what I said is wrong? Tell me why Saddam isn't a threat. Do you deny that he has already used chemical and biological weapons on his own people. You actually believe he wouldn't use them on others? This isn't just about protecting the people of America this is about protecting all people. I for one don't wanna sit back and wait for something catastrophic to happen before we act. We did that with Hitler before WWII and look at what happened. Are you a big fan of genocide and ethnic cleansing?? Cuz I'm not. I think its horrible and needs to be prevented. I also don't wanna deal with Saddam in 5-10 years when hes blackmailing the world with a nuclear weapon.

yeah, you don't believe in genocide, but you support your countries plan to wipe arabs off the face of the earth.
no, Saddam isn't a threat. i don't see him waving his bombs around. whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? or is that a right that's exclusive to amerikans only?
How old are you??? You think the US plans on killing off all Arabs? You've got to be kidding me. Do you have any idea how many Arab people live in the US?? I think if we were killing them off we'd start here and kill them first. I don't see us doing that....do you? What do you consider a threat? You don't think killing and exposing 10's of thousands of his own people to chemical and biological weapons is threatening?? There is proof of that. He doesn't deny it. Richard Reid (an Arab) was innocent until proven guilty and even ADMITTED he was guilty before his trial. We aren't even killing him. He's in prison the rest of his life....not on death row. Also whats with the "k" in place of the c in Americans? Is that some kind of "cool" anti-american way to spell it? Is it supposed to make you "cool" to spell it with a "K". Are you above the correct spelling of american?
deny it all you like my friend, this is all about the crusades part II
maybe the amerikans have not "bombed their own" as you say, but they have tested nuclear weapons before with lasting concequences.
and amerika has killed PLENTY of innocents since they were last in iraq, including saddams "own people". so you're no more fit to run iraq then he is.
i'm 20. and i'm not living in a dream world.

i just would be interested to see what happened if the UN deemed the states "unstable" and "unfit to run themselves", and demanded complete disarmament, and tried to take down the government and replace it with one of their choosing. I bet the US would just lie down and take that, wouldn't they? Just like they expect Iraq to? Oh wait, one thing I forgot... the USA is the only country that counts and they have a right to rule the world. My mistake.

The UN has not requested Iraq perform "complete disarmament" actually. Only for the permission to inspect weapons to make sure they are neither chemical nor nuclear. They don't care about the rest of the weapons.

ahhhhhhh Miss. Anti-US. How ya doin? Again you are wrong. As Corey stated we don't want complete disarmament like you "claim", just the horrible weapons he likes to use to kill INNOCENTS IN HIS OWN COUNTRY AND ELSEWHERE!!! How can any of you even overlook the basic facts. You amaze me. Why such hatred for the US? Is it because our country is more stable than yours (Canada). Is it because your government doesn't have the balls to stand up for itself. Or is it because you thought you had the answer to health care reform by offering it for free and then are having it blow up in your faces?? Saddam is one of the biggest threats to stability in the world and he happens to reside in the most unstable region of the world. That adds up to a whole lot more trouble than we have currently if he is allowed to stay in power. I guess its worthless explaining this to you because you support leaders who kill thousands of their own people and would love to kill millions more in western countries like the US, UK, Spain, Italy, etc, etc. Let me guess its thousands of miles away and so it doesn't affect you right? Who cares about those people over there who are oppressed everyday. If the US and the UK didn't daily enforce the no fly zones thousands of Kurds would be dead today because of Saddam and his Hitleresque ethnic cleansing.
