Do you think a needy person cares what percentage of money someone is contributing? What do you think he would rather have: $1 from someone making $20,000 a year or $1,000 from someone making $500,000 a year?

Until you start posting numbers your arguments are pitiful at best. I have proved that the US gives more than any other nation. Chris has even backed that up by saying that the US does more than its share. The numbers that have been posted don't even account for the AIDS money ($15 Billion) the US is spending AND it doesn't account for all the programs the US has to spend money on that other countries lack!! Take all that money out then show me some REAL numbers on whats left.
Uh, please re-read that, I said "I believe that the net amount donated is the most". I am willing to agree with that. My point was that the adjective "generous" was not entirely appropriate, since generosity is a relative thing. A multi-millionaire dropping a $100 bill into a begger's cup doesn't make him a
generous person.

The American people are the most generous of any nation.
AND the most humble.

that americans, because they have more money to give (read: less taxation) and see a greater need for it (read: less social programs) give more money to charity.

THats the nasty mean spirited Alex we all know and love. Can't see the big picture. If I wasn't so civil I'd call you a few choice names but I'll leave it to your vast imagination.

You can never admit your wrong can you? I would still call that millionaire generous because that poor person (as Corey stated) couldn't care less how much he makes. Thats still $100 to that poor person. You are a communist aren't you Alex? Socialism is your cup of tea.
