I didn't like the first X-men all that much, with the exception of a few things. The enemies were just BLAH. Other than Magneto, and the only partial origin interesting was Wolverine's... I just felt it kind of opened up everything I'm expecting from a series of X-men movies. I just think they're getting deeper into the plot and backgrounds of the characters (Like with the Dark Phoenix Saga on it's way) I think they're improving and it's rare for sequels to do that.

With the exception of Cyclops :( he had a pretty small role this time! Oh well, with the whole Dark Phoenix thing on the way, he'll have a much bigger role.

yeah...

Storm kinda bugged me too. I didn't think she played as big of a role in this movie as the first.

Yeah and in a way she's the most mysterious of the X-men right now. She has like no background information or character info. You get to see the relationships/conflicts with Jean, Cyclops and Wolverine, not to mention a whole lot more Origin with Wolverine. We know a lot about Rogue and even Ice man now! We even know more about Nightcrawler's past then we do about Storm... She's just kinda there...

yeah, i'm not sure how i feel about that, if there's more they're not telling us, hence there being mystery and intrigue, or if she's just not deep, in which case, she becomes insignificant.

I agree Mr. Plum, they should replace her insignificant character with some great actor like Paulie Shore! Or perhaps other loveable, colourful, cuddly characters like Freddy Krueger!

She did have that weird relationship thing with Nightcrawler....that's....strange. I can't help but want to see Freddy vs. Jason. It'll probably suck, but I've always loved those two characters so I'll probably go see it anyways.

Ya I think it will suck too, but I've always liked the characters as well...

As for the "weird relationship" with nightcrawler, at first so did Jean, when they first meet him, it's both jean and storm...

hmm...that's right. i hope they don't fuck up the third x-men. they definitely have a lot of plot issues they need to address and i don't want them watering it down so they can fit too much action instead. that's kinda what i thought happened with matix: reloaded. some of the fight scenes were just TOO long.

I actually wished the fights were longer...

and I agree about x3 because it better not be a movie solely based on the dark phoenix saga...
