</center>i saw the mist! i liked it! it didn't savagely stray from the novella, like a bunch of other stephen king adaptations (such as 1408...which was nothing remotely similar to the novella). so i enjoyed it cause it stayed true to the novella. well...most of it did. the ending's different, but i really really enjoyed the ending. it was a stephen king-esque ending...i don't want to spoil anything, but let's just say that there weren't unicorns and puppies and sunshine abounding.
so yeah. i liked it. one of the few king adaptations done recently that didn't make me want to punch someone for ruining his story.

it is essentially a short book...more like a short story, but a novella is more developed than a short story. so it's really just a term for a story that's not as developed (and long) as a book, but more developed (and longer) than a short story.crustine wrote:how is a novella defined. Yeah the Mist was excellent. If you're a horror fan at all. go see it. it's one of the better horror films I've seen in a while because it's not just about the mist being a threat to the main characters, but the people themselves caught up in everything that play a very important antagonistic part.

The audience at my screening literally broke out into crazy applause during one point and again when the movie was over. I have never in my life seen anything like that at a movie.
