Pumpkins were awesome. 2 hours and 40 mins, definitely got my money's worth out of it. The crowd was well behaved as well, which made me happy. I taped (audio/video) of the whole thing, so look for it on the hub sometime in the next few weeks.

:O how could you not have known? It was their first UK show for 7 years - it was all over the NME etc. And Shepherds Bush Empire too - much nicer than when I saw them at Reading in 1995.

I saw Destroyer (with opening guests Ohbijou and The Hylozoists) last Friday. The opening acts were great and while Destroyer is a great artist...he was so out of it the crowd was leaving in masses during his performance. 
I'm planning to see Tom Cochrane/Red Rider, Sloan, Chantal Kreviazuk, Melissa McClelland, Great Big Sea, Matt Mays, Thornley, Tokyo Police Club, and You Say Party! We Say Die! during EdFest later this month.

But you see, I'm still fairly new to the Smashing Pumpkins. So although I'd definitely have gone, I only own Siamese Dream & Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, so I'm not a fan enough to know when they've last toured here and I don't really buy music magazines. I'd have pretty much went on the fact that I don't trust them to still be together when I do eventually catch up. How was it? Did they play much stuff I'd of known? (Be aware if you answer yes, I will be reduced to tears.)Soozy wrote::O how could you not have known? I'm seeing them at Blackpool (second night) as it's the closest. I've been unbelievably lucky really, in the way it's panned out, having only just gotten into the Verve this year! By 'getting into', they're behind the Smiths as my favourite band ever, so it really has made my year. A Northern Soul has to be one of the greatest albums that has ever graced my ears, I love every minute of it. Not that their other two albums aren't great either, just A Storm In Heaven is hindered by Butterfly, and Urban Hymns, while having fantastic individual merits is the least consistent.
All In The Mind, One Way To Go, Change This Life, Slide Away, Blue, The Sun The Sea, This Is Music, A Northern Soul, BSS, Weeping Willow, Come On = All mind blowing.

I accidentally saw Billy Bragg and KT Tunstall earlier! It's great when you're in the right place at the right time - and it was all MG's fault because I was wandering around Soho remembering when I wandered around there with him and then when I walked past HMV I thought I'd go in and see if they had any of his CDs (I've never seen one here) - so although there were no CDs there was an MGB divider and KT Tunstall sounchecking!
