Well, at least this time they went from a punk rock girl in Avril to an acoustic girl that sounds like....well, Avril.

Wow, when you stop and think about it, it sure seems like Raine found his niche when it comes to producing people, eh?

Avril, Kelly Clarkson, this chick on MTV.

of the ones I know, it all sounds pretty similar: fluffy disposable pop with slight variations on the theme.

Well, he's cornered the market of mediocrity.

Bob Rock better watch the fuck out, there might be a new guy in town to ruin careers!

While I do find it disappointing, producers can work with whoever they want even if it totally is the opposite of what people are used to coming from them. After all, Arnold Lanni, the man responsible for the production of the first four OLP albums, did also produced the first Simple Plan album...

but the first simple plan album is good.

and then they worked with bob rock, and turned to shit.

i see a pattern
you have to, you just have to trust me
whoever i was then i can't ever be again
the faith you've found i've never felt
the terror held in wedding bells
the comfort in "there's no one else"
the truth be told, i'm never going to know

isn't the first Simple Plan album the one with "I'm Just a Kid"? and "Addicted"?

granted, they're even more annoying now, but really they haven't changed much

although im not at all a fan of simple plan, i have to say their first album material was less worse than the 2nd album stuff... based on the singles alone.

Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

I love all the cynicism. Absolutely love it.

Raine needs a job once OLP are through (which is long overdue anyways) and if writing/producing pop jingles for Avril & co is the way for him and Chantal to put food on the table and pay the bills then great. No one should really care what Raine and Chantal do anyways. I say good for them.

Honestly, this should be a sticker on the re-release of Simple Plan's debut album.

Hell, I would buy it based on that sticker alone. What a priceless tagline.
