Raine on MTV
Raine on MTV
there was just a commercial on MTV for a show called "Cheyenne", a singer who looks like she's no more than 15. anyway, the preview was of her in a studio working on her album with Raine so he'll be on the show. i totally forgot when it's on though.

I don't understand why they work with shit artists when they are capable of so much more.
I blame Bob Rock, a.k.a. Satan.

Building a name for themselves through pre-packaged pre-teen stars. It's a friggin "reality" show for a girl that has marginally better vocals than Avril Lavigne.
I'd say Raine is really trying to cash it in, but honestly, he really can't be making much money off of this show. Such a depressing waste of talent.

But the fact remains that they aren't making a very good name for themselves. They had a fantastic name until Gravity.

oh oh oh. a few days ago, my school had a madd presentation video for all grades, one at a time. raine and chantal were featured in it, so so were other canadian bands, but they were the only ones who actually talked throughout the entire film. it was rather intersting.

The OLP name is pretty much tarnished with the pop oriented drivel they put out with their last album...(that's an overstatement I know)......Raine might be making a good name as a producer with all the stars he has worked with, but anyone pre-Gravity might find it to be the ultimate cop out..........."Pop Queen" Raine draining the music from his bandmates with the perfect vampire producer and substituting it with run of the mill pop under the OLP name...........almost insulting when you look at their excellent catalogue of songs....
Anyways, I guess you can tell how I feel after listening to Spiritual Machines and rediscovering the magic after listening to HIPT for a year....

I don't know what reputation you guys are talking about but besides the olp fans, no one really cares about the band anymore.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

it's not about making a name for themselvses (maybe just a little), it's (mostly, i think) about getting work and experience as a producer. Raine being a producer has nothing to do with olp in anyway. and raine isn't 'cashing in', sometimes a job is a job, and if you're new to a certain profession you might have to take what you can get for a while. on the other hand maybe raine and chantal actually have some belief that this girl can really be a great artist - I haven't seen or heard her so I have no idea what she's like.
