Well I was going to respond to what was in there, so I guess I'll just quote it here.

I don't understand how Nickleback wins anything anyway. All their music sounds the same, and they don't have nearly as much talent as other Canadian bands. I will never understand the public's need for brainless crappy music.
Not that I think HIPT is necessarily award-worthy (I wish Spiritual Machines was up against some of the stuff out there now), but I definitely think that OLP is a much better band. And that's not my bias coming through - they've been around through so many different phases of music that I think they're showing they can make anything, whereas Nickleback just sits there and pumps out the same old crap over and over again, with one sex-behind-the-wheel song thrown in for effect.

I used to be all up-in-arms about the shitty state of top-40 but whatever. Some people just like what they like. Who are you to say that band x is better than band y? Because you like then? Well congratulations. I think I just got past fighting it when for years I liked what I thought was good music and all my friends loved what was played on the radio. Eventually I just gave it. Let them listen to what makes them happy, and you listen to what you makes you happy.
