Concert Tips!

Post by tori_waited »

Hey Guys...woo hoo my first post! I've been a long time OLP fan for various reasons (that I'm sure I share with you guys)
I'm going to my FIRST EVER OLP CONCERT!!!! SATURDAY MAY 13 IN MONCTON!!!
hooorah I can barely contain myself...
Now, I was just wondering...does anyone (who's been lucky enough to have gone to a show before) have any tips for the concert?

My friend and I are going up early to try and see them before hand...and you can bet we'll be hanging out afterwords, hoping to get to talk to them/be a picture whore etc. Do they always wait around to chat with fans or do you pretty much have to make a B-Line for their tour bus? Hopefully it's not just a VIP thing.

Oh also...I've been reading previous posts about the $170 tickets, and I think that's awful....my friend and I paid $46.50 and we're in the eighth row. I'd be mad as hell if I paid $170 and had to sit next to someone like me.

Welcome!
Yeah, if you want to catch the band before the show head to the venue in mid-afternoon and you might be lucky enough to catch the soundcheck.
Post-concert stuff is usually venue specific. Some places let fans hang around other places have areas blocked off. I've heard lots of stories of people running into the band in bars and whatever after the show though. That might help.

Best rule of thumb, don't be silly enough to wear flip-flops. haha.

Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything

haha ... great tip about the flip flops.

yeah i guess you can say we're going early :P
if you count going up to moncton around 10am, when the show doesnt start until 7ish early...hahaha.
but hey we're got nothing better to do that day...why not wait around for the band? it's what any true fan would do im sure :D

holy poop i would just die if i saw them out at the bar! they seem like the types that would rather go to small pubs rather than rocking dance clubs, though...so i don't think oxygen would be the place to look for them. lol

If you have glasses, don't wear them... I've encountered many broken glasses and have stepped on many (accidentally of course).

I've worn glasses in some rough concert crowds with no problems.

I've also worn glasses on roller coasters with no problems.

It's all seated - glasses won't be a problem. If I think I'm going to be in a rough GA crowd I'll try to wear contacts, but the few times I haven't I've been fine.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.
