"Usually, junk mail is easy to spot: It comes from sources users don't recognize, it is hawking stuff they're not interested in, or the e-mails just don't look right.
Spam of the future could be sent from the e-mail accounts of friends or colleagues, the Alberta researchers say. The spam could be so sophisticated that messages may contain abbreviations, personal signatures or misspellings that people would expect to see in e-mail from people they know.
Those tricks would make sure people are more apt to visit a Web link or download an attachment, allowing the spammers to peek into hard drives, grab personal data or infect the computer."
Boo to Canadian researchers working on this crap!

Does anyone else think of a can of spam wearing a top hat when reading the title?

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

I read in the news yesterday that there is a new kind of trojan horse virus out that if your computer is infected it will hijack/destroy your computer if you fail to pay a ransom of 10.99 to their account via western union. Once the computer is infected some note along the lines appears like this, "Listen up mothafucka, your computer is infected, and yeah anti-virus programs won't detect it because there are small destructable files, millions of them in hidden folders in all your folders on your drive, and if you don't pay me within a certain period of time, your computer will crash." Also the virus says, "Is your computer expensive? Is it worth it? Is it a business computer? Is it a company computer connected to a network? does it have important files on it? If so, pay the ranson of 10.99 via my western union account and then the virus will be gone." They can't even trace this hacker via western union because what he's doing is so sophisticated.
So you have to pay the ransom researchers are saying. This ransom that's paid will give you some sort of batch number to unlock and delete this trojan. So yeah, internet crime is getting quite up there. I mean hey, if I was a hacker and knew how to do this I would! But on the other hand I'm not a criminal so it would never cross my mind, hence, such a great a idea to make millions of dollars seemlessly, yet illegally.
