Kathy,
I am so bummed out for you. I'm bummed that the show was so-so and I'm bummed that the guys were not around.
I stand by my thought that they are not "in the loop" on fans being pissed about the ticketing issues. If they were, they might have been more inclined to hang out and talk with fans.

No dice... they had metal detectors!Axtech wrote:gotta crotch it, man!Locobone wrote:Nice recap, Kathy! Don't have much more to add other than a few really bad cell phone pics. I was there in the afternoon... they contracted a company to bring them in, set them up, and train security to use them, including wands for anyone who beeped thru the metal detector. Once we found that out we had to take cameras back to the car.
They had 50 UB police and approx 100 event and pit staff. Tightest security I've ever seen at a concert (including U2, where I managed to always get my camera in)

That's insane.
Seriously, who's going to "terrorize" UB?
And I think the guys are losing touch with reality. Not greeting the fans who waited in the rain to see them? Don't they almost ALWAYS come out after a show?

Well they SHOULD be talking to fans about the ticket issue. It does affect their shows and it affects their fans and it affects everything that keeps them in the business. Whether it was their fault or not, they at least need to address it.

I have just two pics...
(I shrunk the pic of Joel and I more than I normally would... I look like an ugly drowned rat from standing in the rain so long, and I'm also not even smiling pretty since I was not a happy camper)

ya...so i was there last nite....pretty sweet really...we were pretty close and it sounded pretty good....i am a little disappointed that there were no real surprises in the setlist...hopefully the tour offers some surprises like new tunes, or even some old non singles...that would be sweet
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

Joel and Steve left after the concert with 2 girls for over an hour... gils who appeared to be traveling with them for this show and Vermont. We were trying to decide if it was a dinner run or booty call

I'd laugh if they had a massive orgy in the back of the bus.

Sorry to break it to you Lindsay, but the band do know about the .net/ticket issues.petersl1 wrote: I stand by my thought that they are not "in the loop" on fans being pissed about the ticketing issues. If they were, they might have been more inclined to hang out and talk with fans.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.
And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.
