The what? It might be on the hub. I'll have to remember to check when I get home.

I also have to remember to check The Hour website for an old interview with Matt...

i think it's called Matt talks politics
"How can we justify spending so much on destruction and so little on life?" Matthew Good

"The white dove is gone, the one world has come down hard, so why not share the pain of our problems, when all around are wrong ways, when all around is hurt, i'll roll up in an odd shape and wait, untill the tide has turned.....with anger, i'm dead weight, i'm anchored"- IME, God Rocket (Into the Heart of Las Vegas) ^ Some say this song is about a terrorists thoughts before 911

"Pray for the sheep" Matt Good
"But it's alright, take the world and make it yours again" Matt Good

I felt it in the wind, and i saw it in the sky, i thought it was the end, i thought it was the 4th of July.

I just got it from Matt on the hub. That video is fucking gold!

"He also believes that kids can be raised so they don't turn out gay. My dad always contended that kids could be raised so they don't turn out to be pretentious right wing religious assholes, but that's just dad. Stockwell Gay will - did I just call him 'Stockwell Gay'? hahaha, that's just a fucking slip of the lip right there!"

Am I the only the who can't stand Matt Good at times? Don't get me wrong, I love his music but he comes off as a bit of a hypocrite.

This guy was wearing the shirt with the tank on it today at this thing I was at, so I asked the obvious, "Were you at the show?"

He just kind of stared at me and nodded.

I hate it when I come across as the mg noob, when I'd rather pretend everyone else in the world is. :(

How so?

Although I'd like to point out that he's stated that he's a contradiction just like everyone else on this world

Rather simply, he's all about tolerance and yet only seems to tolerate those who agree with his political and moral stances. At least it appears that way on his blog.

The people that he censors on his blog are usually quite abusive about the way they argue with him, and he really doesn't have to put up with that. (I assume you're talking about censorship of comments)

Given that he constantly receives threats on his own and his wife's life, and has had to move once due to a stalker, I can definitely understand a lack of tolerance for that kind of crap.

As an opinionated celebrity who makes himself very open to his fans and the general public, he takes a lot more of that kind of abuse than most people.

exactly.

He's had debates on his blog and he's fine with it, but everytime he's tried to open it up or start a new message board it just gets shut down again because of very abusive posts towards himself and others. It's not diffrent then the censorship would be on this board.

I've also heard him get called a hypocrit because he changes his mind on stuff he wants to do, and about his opinions. The thing people seem to forget is that he's a normal person just like us, and over the years he changes, and sometimes when he's ina certain mood he might write something and then later not agree with it. I'm sure if we went back through every person's post's on this board yo ucoudl find some 'contradictions". The fact is, he's more open with his readers and fans then basically every other muscian i know of, so he open's himself up for a lot of analyzing about everything he says and criticisms.

Kinda like when people freaked out when he talked about being burnt out on music. And then a few weeks later talked about being excited to go play with some friends. He's not a hypocrit, he's human.

I was not refering to the way he censors readers. That I can understand. I was talking about his repeated shots at the conservative right. I certainly can understand many of the issues he brings up but many of his comments off hypocritical and untasteful.

Maybe that's just me.

I actually don't find him all that political in the traditional sense. He used to be, but now he tends to focus on human rights issues and awareness of global issues more than taking sides in arguments. He barely commented during the election, and certainly didn't glorify any party.

yeah he never supports any party on his blog. Like Yannic said he mostly posts about human rights violations. He has openly spoke out against both liberal and ndp canidates infact so i woudl say he's pretty non-partisan. he's just human rights and anti-arms obsessed

Well here's some cool news for Matt Good/Limblifter/Jack Pillowhead fans.

I found Limblifter's new Myspace. Turns out they've been working on some demo's, and one of them is non other then "Agoraphobe", the same one you heard on Matt's site a long time ago. Ryan has touched it up a lot, and now of course it's a Limblifter song so he's more in it, but it's awesome.

http://www.myspace.com/limblifter

enjoy. For anyone that doesn't know who Limblifter (Ryan Dahle) is. He's one of Matt's friends, he was the replacement for Dave Genn, fellow Jack Pillowhead member, guitarist and writer for Age Of Electric. His drummer is "that chick' from the Alert Status Red video, and apprently he wrote bass on Big City Life, and Oh Be Joyful. Anyways his band is awesome in their own right and deserve at least some of the hype that his brother's band is getting (The New Pornographers). Anyways, expect to see Ryan on tour in the future.
