Odd that was purchased at a Wal-Mart. Selling cd's/books/movies before the street date usually causes the store to get in big shit. I won't even let new releases get rolled onto the salesfloor until my watch says 12:00 AM Tuesday.

hmm... maybe I should go up to WalMart today and see if they got it out (St. Clair, PA) ... I doubt it though, I doubt they even have the copies in the back yet... I couldn't even find Gravity for like 3 days after its release

Thats a good thing, because you work there, would you not be able to access/purchase new releases early?

My Amazon order with HIPT has already shipped, which surprises me. Theoretically it could arrive before the 30th! (I don't think it will, though. But still.)

No. New releases are "street dated", meaning they cannot be sold to anyone until after 12am of said date. Because all our sales are electronically tracked, it would be very easy to tell if any store violates that date, and there are usually stiff penalties for it, although I don't know what they are.

Interesting. Ive heard of a few people who actually already purchased the album at wal-mart locations in ottawa. I guess they put them out there by accident or something, not knowing.
