I don't know why everyone is complaining about WHERE ARE YOU? I personally think that from what I've heard off this new CD it's the best they've done yet. There's a lot more edge and operatic feel to it. Especially when everyone sings along to SON'S AND DAUGHTER'S verse, and the choir in the background after. It's moving. Very nice job, and I wanted this to be the first single for the new CD. It's not the BEST song on the new CD from what I've heard, but smart move on making it a single first.

Buddy the song is basically Innocent part II. Woo it has a tiny bit of edge which it loses when they start singing together about sister's and mother's a la John Mayer. The song also sounds like it's two completely different songs mashed together (as I've said in another thread).

That's fine if you like it. But it's pretty clear it's not much different than what we heard on Gravity.

I'm not really into this version of the song. The previous version was pretty cool, and it flowed from the verse to the chorus. The "where are you?" part just seems so out of place and meaningless to the first verse. It's hard to pass total judgement on it without hearing the whole song, but I would hope the band would go back and use the previous version. I'm still excited for the rest of the album, but I'm just not feeling this song. I also hope they would use a different song for a single, preferably Walking in Circles (if it made the final cut), or maybe even World on A String (which I hated at first, but it's kind of catchy now).

I like "Where Are You," I found the chorus to "Best Day" kind of cheesy and this one ahs a bit of a gospel feel to it. I agree with Jim in saying that it sounds really similar to Innocent, but then I like Innocent so whatever. I'm still looking forward to the new record.

I agree. Just because what I've heard of this single does nothing for me it doesn't change the fact that what I've heard of "Angels Losing Sleep" is one of the best pieces of music I think this band has ever put out. And I'm not lying. From the two minutes I've heard, this song has the potential to soar immediately to the top of the list of my favorite OLP songs.

I've e-mailed gynp at 89x radio and he said the single is going to be released this coming week. Just to confirm what OLP.cc has reported. Also, he said that there is still word the album will be released in July. 89x is a pretty credible source considering they were first to play SOT and some other singles from OLP. Also, everyone at 89x are huge fans of OLP, so they are pretty eager themselves to hear the new stuff.

Keep your ears open and your tapes recordin'

I would still hope that the album would be out in July. If the August 16th date is true, that's almost 10 weeks of a single without an album. That's not as bad as the SOT -> Gravity wait, but still enough to get violently sick of a single song before you get more stuff.
