To anyone who said that OLP owes them something and would not exist without them. I have a simple message for you. Shut up. Is that clear and simple enough? It's taking them so long to make the cd because they are putting the time and effort into it, so even assholes like you will enjoy it. They are taking their time because they do care about their fans. So what if they aren't on the radio going "yeah we love you guys yeah were cool". Why would they waste their time doing that? In case you havn't realised they are people too, with families and lives. They make music because they enjoy doing it. They continue to sell it because they know fans like us like it. They all have enough money to just stop and live comfortably. The next time you want to whine about them not saying anything about release dates, go and ask your teacher for an extra cracker at snack time and take an extra long nap you big baby.

5440 have been in the music business for about 20 years now and don't exactly have what you would call mountions of success, but they still make music because it's what they love what they do. Basically you just compared OLP to Nsync.
Not saying they would still be around without success; they very well might have moved onto different projects or other life styles. But unless anyone here can see into alternate universes no one should really be making those types of accusations.
As far as OLP releasing something to keep us satisfied, while I do agree it's been a long wait, they have done a lot more than most bands do in between records for thier fans. I mean they've released holiday greetings from the studio each year; previewed demos on the radio, shared studio practice clips and released Not Afraid. If all my favorite bands did that I'd be a happy man.

also, they've released 6 cds and 1 dvd in the last 10 years, so it's hardly fair to get so impatient because the next one isn't coming out tomorrow.

Besides, at most us and OLP are on equal footing. Did you buy the CD's to support the band? No, you bought the CD's because you wanted to hear the music. At least, I hope that's why. Basically, OLP makes things for you (concerts, CD's, merchandise) and you buy or don't buy it as you see fit. OLP gains money when you take their hard work, so everyone wins. Thus, we're equal with them. Even Steven.
