Maybe they just didn't want to put it on the album after it's been out for 6 months already.Long Jonny wrote:I can't see OLP not being fond of Not Afraid in the studio. It just doesn't make sense. They only put out a song when they feel that it is the best it could possibly be.
And on to the video, it sounds like Raine uses a voice distorter for the first part of the chorus. I loved that thing

Woo! thanks for that. I'm having picture problems with it (winamp freezes the picture after about 5 seconds and windows media is just wierd and fuzzy) so that's very cool to see.Long Jonny wrote:Did anyone notice the listing of songs?
Quite a few songs on that paper with some cool titles. Here's what I could make out:
Not Afraid
Enemy
Talk is Cheap
Hit the Wall
______
ALBUM
Don't Stop
World on a String
End of the World
Weight of the Lord
________
Don't Ask Why
Love & Trust
Picture
Vampire
Holy Ghost
Walking in Cirlces
Apology
Save Yourself
But i'm sure 2 of those titles were stolen from Pearl Jam songs and then just changed a teensy bit!!
And big thanks and hugs to Stace and the guys for doing this again

Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.
And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Nevermind, I got it to work. I'm liking the sound, definitely not Gravity part 2. Don't Ask Why is still the bit I like best, but this sounds good too.wanan wrote:The hub is screwing me around right now, where did you get it?nikki4982 wrote:I got it!!! And not from the hub... Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

Re: HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
I don't understand this AT ALL. To me it sounds like the exactly same style as Gravity, which I personally don't find all that bad. The lyrics don't seem to be any "deeper" at all. The drumming was sub-par for Jeremy, I mean, the basic 4 beats per bar rock beat I find really tiresome. Maybe it's just a rehearsal thing though, as in, maybe they weren't playing it quite like they will for the record. I mean, Jeremy's not going to be going crazy while Raine's talking to the camera. Despite the sub-par drumming, I like it. I have to say though, during that little 'rave up' at the end, Duncan's playing was impressive, I think more so than his playing on any other song in their catalogue.Long Jonny wrote:So, well, what did you think of the video?
I was actually quite impressed- I love the addition of more keyboards on this record. The lyrics (from what I could make out) seemed to have more meaning and the music, I thought, was very cool. Definitely a new sound though!
