Sadly, I have. I hate to admit it because I know I haven't learned it if I cheat. I am overly concerned with how good my grades "look" sometimes. I try really hard not to get caught up in it. I won't go into what I've done, but I have never stolen a test or anything that I would consider too bad. It's all about how well you can rationalize.

I can't believe your teacher leaves the room when you're doing tests! That's just asking for people to cheat.

We used to have "open book" tests sometimes where you'd have all your textbooks in there with you and just had to look stuff up to find the answers - I never quite worked out the point of those.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Well the teacher figures you gotta at least look at it ahead of time because if you just sit there paging through the text, looking for the answer, it will more than likely take you more time than is allowed on the test.

It depends on what kind of test it is. If its a multiple choice type test or a short answer test then they dont make sense, but often we get tests that are essay based and you have to be able to support your essay with notes and quotes taken from the text. I think that kind of open book test is alright simply because you really have to know the topic quite well anyway in order to put together a decent essay.

Sparknotes are essential though. There's no possible way you can read every single thing thats thrown at you. Might as well get the jist of it and move on. Hell it's your choice if you want to read the book.

I've cheated quite a few times before. Not normally on tests, unless it's something like Math or Science, and I forgot a simple formula or something, then I usually glance at someone else's paper to se if I can see that one formula. :) .

Yeah, I can say that I've copied other people's homework sometimes, and I honestly haven't met a single person who hasn't done that at least once.

As for complete plagiarism, no, I've never taken someone else's paper and called it my own. Of course, I've taken people's ideas, but teachers actually call that 'Research' around here, but it's not, really... it's different.

Umm... I don't know what else to say. :\

...and this is me hanging on / i'd burn our initials in the sun if it would shine / anxiety chokes me like razor wire / if hate's in your heart man, you'll take what you're given / wake up / i'm not the only one / it's never goodbye / go ahead and play dead / if everyone's a casualty, then take your time, there ain't no trouble / these wounds they will not heal / ambition can be a tricky thing / what the hell do i know about rape anyway? / this is not what i hoped for / ain't it so weird how it makes you a weapon / who will be there to tell me how stupid i am? / those living for death will die by their own hand / and it's me that I am spying on / pick up the pieces and live with the stars / hurry up and wait / things have never been so swell / they're always the ones who slowly drift / be great / ...and this is my world.

The teacher leaves the room because there's one kid that has dyslexia, so he goes into the back room and reads the test to him. My entire class is counting on him leaving during the final this year, or we will be screwed like dinner. No one learned a single thing this year.

The only time I've done something I actually feel quilty about is last year, I found the final for socials by mistake. I showed it to one girl (the teacher was out of the room) because I just wanted to get the vocab so I wouldnt have to study the entire years worth of vocab. She was extremely stupid and stole the freaking test, and seeing as it was the teacher's only copy, she noticed. The teacher knew someone took it, so she made a new test.

The only time I've really gotten cought was last year during a french test, the teacher gave us our essay question before the test, so we would have time to think about it, and write it out so we could see where we made mistakes. I really needed to get a good mark on that test, so I made sure my essay was perfect, and brought it in with me. Needless to say, she noticed, and I got it taken away.

I think, on busy work, or for little stuff, it's ayite to cheat. Just so long as you're not stupid.
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

I have cheated before........me and another guy kept swapping tests during our OAC law test (grade 13) I'm sure I have done a few other little things during my high school reign. I got accused of plagarism in College and I went nuts on my instructor. I was mad because I just made a silly little metaphor that she thought was very good.......too good for me to have wrriten it. Anyways, she never accused me again after that.

When it comes to cheating, little helpful acronyms written on your hand is something I have thought about but never do. Its just a sign of desperation. usually I just let go of the stress and try and make it fun. That's just from experience.

Plagarism is very low..............its funny.....all you have to do is quote it or sum it up, then source it. Its really quite easy and makes you and your work that much stronger. It sets an extremely bad precedent for the school and for yourself to pawn things off. You owe it to yourself to do it correctly.

Cheating may help you pass a test, but in the end its just a sign of laziness and bad character waiting to be exposed.

i've cheated on tests before but nothing serious...well i guess cheating is a serious thing because their are the students who are trying to get into good schools after highschool and they might get screwed up with cheaters cheating...i have only written like little reminders on the desk to help me thru a certain spot that i always get caught in...nothing serious like how today in bio this kid next to me had cheat sheets in his pocket and he kept pulling them out and he had some stuffed into his tie...teacher never caught him but a few of us noticed... crazy kid! i have now realized that cheating isn't helping me with anything...sure it helps me pass the test but it won't help me later when i reely need that information and i should know it...cheating was only the worst thing for me to do for myself cuz it was holding me back from my full potential!
and i'm supposed to be strong & have all the answers ... a cannibal in the new church of cancer ... but i'm nothing special i'm not unique ... i have many secrets & i eat the weak... and i'm at an end ... i'm at an end... and there's ... NO WAY OUT!!

i need to find my sanctuary ..... someplace safe ... gotta get this outta me ..... this is my escape
