the nasa thing was something about them being given info from the people that built an instrument in ONE system, but thinking it was in the OTHER. if you backwater hicks had switched to the system of the educated intelligensia (metric) that never would have happened

another question for you all, do you pronounce it KiLOMeters or kilo-meters? I'm from the praries so i don't call them kilo-meters, even though i'm pretty sure that's the proper way.

Using the pH scale when knowing the acidity of something doesn't matter isn't the point.
The point here is to change from one form of measurement to another. This doesn't mean that you should go around measuring things. Just that, when you do measure things, metric is the more logical choice.

um... I'm not saying that whenever you mention something you have to say how many meters it is. Just that it makes more sense to use Metric than Imperial.
