Saddam Captured

Awwww you all missed me how sweet! J-Neli is sort of right....I'm sick of arguing with people who think they know what they are talking about, but really don't, and its been shown very nicely in this thread. Rob thought Saddam was dead, Alex questioning DNA tests, etc. Some of you here really make me laugh at your lack of knowledge yet you are so strongly opinionated. We caught Saddam and hooray for that. His homeless looking ass is hanging up, poster-size in my rec. room, but its not over. It is however a HUGE step and anyone who doesn't see that is a fool. By the way I made sure to leave room for Bin Laden's mug shot or autopsy photo.
I also laugh at the individuals who claim this is "close to the election". Its actually closer to the begining of the war (8.5 months ago) than to the election (11 months away). Keep up the good work on making me laugh. Keep up the moronic accusations you are making Michael Moore and his ilk proud.
Oh and Corey this was great!! Almost made me fall out of my chair.

Wow, why am I not surprised you can't say anything good about the US? Anyways, they killed just his sons and released photos of them. Saddam was still at large. But why would I expect you to know that?
obviously i have some strong feelings about this, considering that i am a terrorist saddam loyalist.
i think they should let him go. i'm serious. shave him, shower him, and turn him over to REAL IRAQI's and let them decide what to do.
After all, Bush has said that the US is not an occupying force. Doesn't that mean they have no legal right to interrogate or try him? He's an iraqi. Any laws he broke were iraqi laws. let the iraqi government and iraqi courts try him.
Also, does anyone else note the hilarious irony in the united states trying a man for killing iraqi civillians when their sole occupation for the last year has been killing iraqi civillians?
when does Bush stand trial? And Venom & other yankee flag wavers, do not use your doublethinker logic on me. The dead iraqi father does not care if he was killed as "collateral damage of a just war" or by "an evil dictator's weapons of mass destruction," because he's dead either way.

Yes I would like to know when Bush will go on trial as well... There have been plenty of violations he could easily be accused of.
Venom, don't think that because of some comments made here that we are all blind to whats actually going on. This man should have been impeached and put under trial. Deep down you know this too. It hurts, yes I know. Your "amazing" leader, is in fact a criminal, just like the man you caught on the weekend. They should chat you know? They have so much in common.

xjsb125 wrote:I voted for Bush. *awaits hanging by the CM* I was pleased with how he handled the whole 9/11 thing, and the "War on Terror" was a novel idea. However, it flopped and then I think he had to find someone else to go beat in the head. If there had been any weapons of mass destruction found, I would have felt like the war was validated. I have lots of friends who went off to fight in Iraq, and luckily none of them have been hurt or lost their lives. I am thankful that they went off to fight to try and protect everyone else, not knowing for sure if there was anything that needed to be protected or not. As of yet, there has been nothing found that we needed to be protected from. The only good to come of it is that we eliminated a bad man from power, and are attempting to give people the chance to live their lives the way they want to (and who says they want to have the same ways of life we do?). I am saddened that so many have died. I can only hope they felt like they were trying to do the right thing, and I applaud them for having the courage to go fight. Finding Saddam, and liberating Iraq is not enough for me to vote for Bush again. His performance as President has not been impressive enough for me use my vote on him a second time. That was just my opinion. I respect what all of you have said, and if you want to cuss me and bash me now, then I understand. *runs*
Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

i'm glad to see such a tyrant caught and being brought to justice. But they're right, Bush has commited many crimes himself and also needs to be brought to justice. Clinton was in a great deal of shit for much much less. Not to mention for all the bashing of Michael Moore, he was infact right in his prediction about Haliburton in Iraq

OK, here's some points I just want to throw out there.
1. Clinton wasn't much better than Bush. Clinton did the same things in his eight years, just that his atrocities weren't nearly as publicized because no one attacked America in those eight years. It is a shame, however, after all he did, he was impeached for getting a blowjob from an ugly intern.
2. Saddam lived in many palaces. I am pretty sure that in said palaces, there would be lots of DNA there, not just from Saddam. There's no guarantee that we couldn't have matched the DNA of one of his countless body doubles.
3. Doesn't it seem odd that Saddam gave up peacefully? I mean, he's such an "evil man" or whatever, so if he were caught in that rock, wouldn't you think he'd have a gun and start shooting up the place, or better yet, himself? I am sure he would take self-righteous suicide and look like a martyr than getting captured by the troops.
4. His family members helped rat him out. Why? I know this might seem like a far stretch and all, but don't you think his family could have led the troops to a body double of his? It's highly possible.
And with that said, don't be too shocked when a tape comes out with one of the 40 Saddams out there, be it the real one or a double, that says something along the lines of, "Ha ha fuckers, you didn't get me!"
That is all.

I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.
although i don't actually believe in conspiracy theories, i did think up a couple strange points. What better way to get the heat off you then stage you own capture? The would explain ho he was rated out, found in a pretty shitty set up. Also would explain why he would flee to such a obvious hiding spot. Immidiatly proclaimed himself as Saddam. But didn't kill himself. If this truly was a look alike, saddam just booked his flight to LA to star in a movie chronicaling saddam's life
of course this is just crazy talk, but ome things i did find kinda fishy

See now some stuff about the capture seemed really weird. As already mentionned he had a pistol but didn't use it. Not even on himself. Furthermore where he was supposedly staying which was a tiny little hut, had pairs of new shoes still in their boxes, and Christian calenders...
When they caught him he said straight away that he was Saddam which seems weird. Not only that. but why was he hiding in such an obvious place? It doesn't make sense. He's not a stupid man. To hide in a hole with no way out seems a little too much like Kindergarten hide and go seek.
I'm still skeptical. I'm still waiting for news to leak out that its not the real Saddam. If it is Saddam well that's great. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was just one of his lookalikes.

After all, Bush has said that the US is not an occupying force. Doesn't that mean they have no legal right to interrogate or try him? He's an iraqi. Any laws he broke were iraqi laws. let the iraqi government and iraqi courts try him.
We have every right to interrogate him. He is a POW and even if we are "occupiers" we have the right to hold him. READ THE GENEVA CONVENTIONS (article 2 pertains to occupation). It baffles me at how some of you can just throw BS out there. Would it hurt you to do some research?? Of course it would because then some of your accusations would be proven wrong. Instead I point out your flaws to you and you can just say "oh Venom is full of shit" well guess what I'm right and if you'd take 5 mins to look it up you would see that!
I agree the Iraqi's should decide his fate, but what "government" would you like us to turn Saddam over too. There is no official Iraqi government yet you morons. Get a clue! Your ignorance is so aggrivating. So Doug I'll agree you're half right. The Iraqi's should try him, HOWEVER not all his crimes are against his own people. But you are WRONG in saying that we can't hold, and interrogate him.

Theres a difference between being skeptical, and foolish. Why is it so hard to understand that he was a coward. Why do you think he killed so many. They were a threat to his power. He talked the big talk but he was nothing but a coward. He ran away, hid in a hole, and pleaded for his life. Are you just disappointed that he didn't kill a bunch of Americans on his way out?
He was also found with $750,000 US dollars. You think Saddam just gave a body double some spending money for his time in the hole?
As far as the DNA goes I'm sure they had hundreds of samples to make sure it was his. Do you know how many ways they could have found his DNA? Clothes, combs, tissues, toilet seat, rugs, envelopes, toothbrush, shoes, socks, underwear, beds, etc. Do you honestly think there is a doubt after the DNA test?? COME ON GET A GRIP!

i thought you weren't occupiers, you were liberators?

I'm pretty sure they caught the real Saddam. No two persons look that much alike, but I could be wrong. But I don't think the US would take that risk. They probably made really sure it was the real guy, to not emberass themselves.
As for treating him like a POW. The US made a big deal when the Iraqi showed footage of the captured Americans on television because it supposedly was against human rights, but now they are doing the same with Saddam, I don't know whether it's illegal to do, but somehow it doesn't seem right to make a fuss about showing American hostages and not about Saddam (or the prisoners in Guantanoma Bay).
But, whether you like Bush or not, capturing Saddam is a good thing. I'm not saying Bush was responisblr for finding him and should be re-elected though. Hopefully Saddam will get a fair trial and will be put away for the rest of his life, along with everyone who helped him during his regime and that the Iraqi people will get a free country like they want it (without Saddam and without Americans) and not like Bush wants it.

OK Venom, about the DNA tests. I mean, yeah, they should have his DNA, but it's highly possible it could be someone else. The man has palaces with other people living there with him. And unless he writes "Saddam" in each pair of his underwear, we can't say if it's his for sure. I mean, I could take a dirty shirt of yours and say it belonged to Doug, and if we have no DNA on file of Doug's or yours to begin with, who can say I am right or wrong? Things can be planted. He was capable of killing his own people and staying in power for years, I think he's smart enough to slap a dirty shirt in his palace once in a while.
Yeah, maybe you should take the trip to reality, he's not a complete imbecile. You don't rise to power and stay there for as long as he did without knowing how to be devious and cunning.

Hey venom, you still haven't answered us about when Bush will stand trial for all of his crimes... I mean you've attempted to pick apart our worst arguments, we'd appreciate it if you proved your supposedly superior knowledge in regards to that question.
You know your man is a crook. Admit it. That's why you've avoided mine and Doug's question.

Theres a difference between playing with dead American soldiers and an alive Saddam being examined to make sure hes in good health.
As for Bush what has he done? Its not over yet. We could still find WMD. Plus Congress told him to go for it. They are liable too. They had the same evidence.

Oh gee Narbus, I'm soooo sorry for not going out of my way to search for what you wrote earlier in the day, and rather read what Venom said to me. God, stop being such a dick, you're just as bad as Venom.

Out of your way? Reading a two line statement in a post in which I reply directly to you in a thread you're already browsing is "out of your way?"
You even mentioned his other family members in a post you yourself made. That you mention we have some of his family in custody and then fail to realize where we may have gotten dna samples from is just dumb.

Out of my way is reading a post from a page that was completed when I wasn't home. Sorry guys, you people don't interest me that much to read what you wrote. I read what is in front of me.
Also, I apologize to the might Narbus for not thinking about his family members spitting into a cup for the American government to capture Saddam. How stupid of me. Oh jeez, I am so illiterate and ignorant because I might have thought these people would be unwilling to comply with the people that imprisoned them because of their bloodlines. God, I am going to go cry in the corner now because I'm such a moron.
