makeover service

Post by doug »

So i was watching TLC the other night... they have this great show called "What Not To Wear" which I'm sure you've all seen.. if you haven't, the show is a reality tv show where two skilled and educated fashion critics/experts select one very poorly dressed person and give them $5000 to buy a new wardrobe with. The catch is that the person has to go through this brutaly honest fashion critique with most of their old clothes being thrown out in the process. They then teach the person how to be a better dresser/shopper and give them a haircut/makeover to boot.

Anyway, they had this 25 year old female law student named Lili, who at the start of the show had a fondness for baggy sweaters and sweat pants and was about a four out of ten. The fashion people get their hands on her and throw out all her old shitty clothes and hook her up with a tick new wardrobe and hair cut. the end result: they turned her into a 7.5

that's 3.5 points of potential hotness she never knew she had! Don't belive me? Check her out.

they always do this little segment at the end of the show about how the new style has affected the person. well it sure affected this lili - she went from undatable to this guy-magnet and had all this confidence.

I started thinking about how so many people that i've come in contact with could use a trip to this show - not because they're fashion disasters, but because they could use the boost in confidence.

so i think i should start a service that makes people over. what do you guys think? would i get rich or what?

Depends, are you good at giving fashion advice? Everyone knows they need a self confidence boost.

no, i'm terrible. the first person i would makeover is me. in fact, that's how i'd hire my experts - the group of fashion/hair/behavior people that give me the best tips get the jobs!

You know, that would be cool to have a local company that does that. But where would you get the money to fund these big makeovers?

that's easy. i'm rich.

and besides, the people who want to be made over are paying for everything. the haircut, the new clothes and of course our time.
