Dakona

Post by christa lynn »

I know I've created another Dakona thread in the past but I am much too lazy to find it.

These four guys local to the Fraser Valley are one of the best bands out there in my opinion. Their new CD Perfect Change is set for release in July. If you want to hear some of their stuff you can go to http://www.hyfntrak.com/dakonarevelation/dakona to hear Revelation or to http://www.dakona.com and click on the link to hear Good. For more information go to http://www.dakona.ca where there's a bio of the band, tour dates and other such things. Also, there is a link to a message board on http://www.dakona.com. I can't wait for them to come back here and do a local show.

Is anyone else as impressed with these guys as I am?

I think you sent me some mp3s a while ago. I think they're great and I'll be buying the new album when it comes out.

I remeber you mentioning this band awhile ago.. I dl'd a good amount of there songs and I am really impressed at this band.... I look foward to their cd this summer because a lot of the songs I dl'd were pretty poor quality.
What I felt before was wrong, I told myself all along, these familiar feelings take away the pain. And with this reason to rebel, I told you how I felt, you turned and sighed and said you couldn't feel a thing for me. And I lost another wish in all of this.

"Richest"

Don't drag me down when you fall
Don't you know it's a privillage
You have so much, you got it all
Still you're counting your riches

And I could be 10 years old
With a hole in my belly, no shoes on my soul

But I am here
Take my car, take my girl
I'm the richest man in the world
Steal my gold, take my pearls
I'm the richest man in the world

All that I am I lay down
In a mess of confusion
This simple song it's a simple sound
But just gas that I'm using

And I could be 10 years old
With a hole in my belly, no shoes on my soul

But I am here . . .

And all you say don't mean a thing
(Could I give it all away)
You show your colours when you bleed
(Could I just give it all away)
You said let it go, well I don't know baby

Give it all away, give it all away

I am here . . .

I gotta be free
Don't wanna be chained to this
But it's chained to me
And I gotta be free from the chains that bind me

Could I give it all away
Could I just give it all away

Not to insult you or anything Joel, but Lanni definitely produced that heaping pile of shit we call Simple Plan. Ahhh Arnold, I know you needed work, but did you have to go that low?
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I remember when you first started a topic about bright eyes. I think you and I were the only people who listened to him before then.

Actually, not ALL of the CD is produced by Lanni. Some of the songs were produced by some guy in the states (who I can't remember the name of at the moment).

But anyway, it's a really great CD. I just can't stop listening to it. I think Revolving is my fav, and it's especially good when the bass is turned up loud. :)
