Does bringing the guy home in your windshield and not giving him any aid and letting him die, is that murder?

Umm... if she is the one who drove the car into him, then I would have to say yes.

how is this even in dispute? she CAUSED the injuries that CAUSED his death, nevermind the part about aid.

uhm.. interesting obersvation

Before opening statements, she pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence, which could lead to a sentence of up to 10 years.

so, the maximum sentance for tampering with evidence is 10 years?

Jackson and his cousin, Herbert Tyrone Cleveland, pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence to help Mallard. Jackson received a 10-year sentence; Cleveland, nine years. As part of plea agreements, they were to testify at Mallard's trial.

how is that a plea bargin? he got the maximum sentance. dude. he got fucked.

Well, this lady had better be found guilty of murder. She fucking injured the man and left him in her car's windshield to die. There's no way around it, you murder some one, you should be tried for murder. If you were going to let the man die, and least mercy kill him and put him out of his misery. Letting him linger for three days is just cruel.

The only thing that would be just is if they stripped her naked, cut her body in random places, tied her down to a table, and put her in a desert to die. I mean, if she lets a man suffer and die like that, shouldn't she have the same fate?

By the way, what happens if this lady, by some odd chance, is found innocent? Those two people that helped her out would have to spend 10 years in jail and she would be free, and she did the killing. If that happens, oh man, all hell should break loose.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I agree. She could have called an ambulance or drove to a hospital. This guy may have still been alive today. But no...she just had to let him stay in her windshield and die of pain. That's fucking sick.

:( It's sad that even when all the evidence is present to convict someone, they sometimes get off with only a year in prison.

Isn't it horseshit that she left him in her garage to die.......but kept on fucking going out there and apologizing to the guy for doing what she did.

So how do you think the race card will be played in this case? It almost always comes up if the person isn't caucasian, so you have to figure it's just a matter of time before the, "I'm black, therefore, if you convict me, Johnny Cochran will be in this courthouse fighting to get you fired" will appear in the case.

The way I see it is, she can have a double whammy of -isms working for her in this case. First, she can play the female card, saying that women suck at driving, because obviously it's true. Along with that, she can use the race card, because whenever I get stuck behind a black person driving, especially in Detroit, they make right hand turns from the left turn lane, either drive 20 under or over the speed limit (no middle ground can be reached), and cut people off like no other! [/bleeding sarcasm]

Easy there Mr. Generalization.

Did anyone notice all the drugs she was on besides? It scares me to think that there are people on the road while under that much substance.

man, i was watching court TV and those psycopaths that are on this show were like look at how disinterested she is.....i think that if i were a juror i would go easy on her since this is a coping mechanism. :wtf:

what the fuck?! if i'm a Juror i'm thinking to myself, yeah ok bitch, i'm giving you the 99 year sentace, see how fucking disinterested you'll be when that shit comes down on you. godammit, where's the personal accountability, quit blaming the drugs, quit blaming her "coping mechanism", and get to the point, she killed someone, she's a killer, put her away, we don't need people like this in our society.

That's some crazy stuff. That means that they have pinpointed the DNA genes that determine whether you are black or white. Long term this means that gene splicing babies from black parents could be made to be white and vice versa. Scary.
