"NardBoy from 92.3 Xtreme radio interviewed Duncan and did a concert announcement for the August 9th show in Cleveland at Tower City Amphitheater with 3 Doors Down and Shinedown (tickets go on sale May 17th). Duncan said they have been in LA writing and leave for Maui on Sunday May 11th to start recording on Monday for a month. He said they are taking a new approach to recording this time around by doing most of it "live off the floor" the same way "Bring Back The Sun" was done. He said the live CD will be out in late-June or early-July and joked around and said he wouldn't give the title out yet. He also said the DVD will be out by the end of the year. Duncan also said that, even though they sound like a broken record because they keep saying it, but that the really do feel like a new band with Steve and they are very excited since this will be the first record written with Steve from it's inception. He also said that when they hit the road, it will just be the four of them, no extra musicians."
I can't wait either! Does anyone know if Our Time Is Fading, Not Afraid, and Talk Is Cheap will be on it or if it will all be totally "unknown" stuff? It would be cool if they put all "unknown" songs on #6 and put 2 or 3 of the above songs on the greatest hits/best of album...then there would be no question as to wheather I would buy it

If they change their minds and record it like a real album, the new songs could have more than one guitar part. Led Zeppelin only used one guitar when playing live, but they didn't limit themselves for their albums. If OLP does the album like they say they will and record it live off the floor, I guess it might just have one guitar . . . but I hope they change their mind. They should realize BBTS is a great song, but the studio recording of it sucks.

I know you guys don't really care, but I told you I spoke with Raine at the JUNO after show and Steve. They were really excited about the new songs and recording and getting out on the road. I know that Bring Back The SUn wsa done in one take. That is what they mean by the Live Feel, what you here is as is. No overdubbing etc.
I can remeber when OLP were a 4 pieac eunit. They did some great songs then. I love what Jamie and Mike added to the mix, but if this is truly suppose to be getting back the their roots somehow(Naveed era) then it was only a four piece outfit. I for one and looking forward to the new stuff. It you could of seen how generally excited Raine was about the new stuff you would understand what I am talking about. It was like a kidin the candy store.
so they are going to be in Maui for amonth. i am off 10 days in 2 weeks. Where was Bob's studio again> Actually being in Hawaii now for me defeats the purpsoe. I was suppose to go in Feb, but plans feel through.

It really wouldn't be any different then showing up at one of their shows. Actually I always tell OLP where I am going to be and such. Besides if I really went I would email their managemnt company or something saying that i would be there or something like that.
NO it wouldn't because they are use to me by now. I am not going to Hawaii. I was just kidding. hey when they recorded SM, ididn;t go to the studio and they did that one in NYC. I am saving up for Europe in the Fall and Australia( 15 days vacation) next year. My friend said I should go to Raine, you need to play AUstralia on these dates, etc.
