it's not exactly like i get a choice about showing her. she's an assistant principle at a neighboring school district so she's fully aware about when marking periods end and then she goes and hounds me about it for weeks. "oh did you hear any of your grades yet?? see your report card yet?? has it come in the mail yet??" she'd definately notice if it went missing and would have no qualms about going up to the school herself to see it. besides, i don't feel i have anything to hide. if she doesn't like it that's her problem.

yeah i get that too.
and ironically the one thing i've learned this year is that nothing i've done or learned in any of my other years of high school is completely pointless. good grades aren't enough to get you money from a good college. you also have to be a candystriping, track star, class president. in fact, that's all you have to be. actually screw the candy striping, class president thing. all you need is to be a star athlete. intelligence doesn't matter.

being "well rounded" is good, but if a college has to choose between a "well rounded" student and some kid on the state champion lacrosse team, guess who's gettin the money?
even with division three schools. this kid in my school, (biggest asshole i ever met), has nothing more than mediocre for grades and has done nothing remarkable for his community. Luckily for him, however, Dartmouth, a D3 school, gave him a full "academic" scholarship, one that he never would have gotten had he not been a part of our state champion lacrosse team.

i would like to take this moment to say I fucking hate lacrosse and its not even a professional sport. All the players are assholes who think they are hot shit and can rule over all else b/c they run around catching butterflys all day.
/end rant
no offense of course

got my report card today. 4 A+'s, 3 A's, 1 A-. My mom takes one look at it and then tells me i "need to try harder."
what the fuck? even if i wasn't a senior already accepted to a great school these would be kickass grades. she has no idea how lucky she is to have me, an honest, hard-working kid who doesn't go out every night to get drunk and high.![]()
I'm sorry about that, Kim.

I'd better not tell your mom my grades when I meet her - she might not let me sleep under her roof!
