as soon as the words left my mouth
your eyes widened and you looked at me
then your head slinked away
as you timidly forced a smile
i knew you thought i was joking
just like i knew before i said it
that you wouldn't requite it
i didn't matter much to me
i'd say it to someone else in a month

Said I love you. To two people in one month. I can't tell if you were arguing if that is strange or not, or if you've done it. Actually, I'm not sure that you were arguing anything at all.

heh, you've got talent, Jeff, no doubt.

start a band, I'd listen just for your lyrics.

I'm not bullshitting when I say we could all be talking to the next Matt Skiba.

it's sort of rare for me to give a compliment that big, so take it for what it's worth.

personally, I think your style is unpretentious but brilliant, which is a huge asset to have. It's appreciated widely, without the fake pseudo-intellectual scenesters who think convoluted and intricate poetry is the only way to go.

I think there's room for all styles of poetry, and everything, but I get really sick of people who call themselves poets because they use a lot of thee's, thou's, and forsaken's in their writing.

props to you.
