also, what do you consider to be the 'average height' for a girl? or what height do you like for girls? tall chicks, medium height, short?

Isn't the average height for a woman about 5'4" and for a man about 5'9"? Though I think it's different for different countries.

^ Actually, it might be the same. I'm pretty sure I have been told that, in Canada atleast, the average woman is 5'4".
I'm 5'3" ... so I'm getting there!
