What would I even change them to? They're dark grey when they're read, bright red when they're unread. That's pretty... easy to see.

and I'd want you to make the symbol MORE red, like fill the area in more. Alex agreed with me too, so it is a problem for newer generation monitors that only accept a minimum of 1024x768 resolution
