I'll just get my stance on abortion out there and let the debate begin.....I do not believe in abortion as a method of birth control! For example if an 18 year old couple gets pregnant I do not believe they have the right to end the childs life just because they don't want it. I think that is despicable and inhumane. However I do believe in abortion ONLY if the mother is in serious risk, or if she is the victim of rape. I think the partial birth ban is a good law because it only bans that type of abortion. There are other forms of abortion that are FAR more humane than this. If you are unfamiliar with this procedure I encourage you to educate yourselves before posting against this ban. I do not think there needs to be anything added to this law since there are other forms of abortion that could be used if the mother is at risk of dying.

i'm not touching this subject with a 30 foot pole. I'm undecided on the whole matter, and truely i dont think anyone can really know what it's like untill they need to make the choice. My opinion varies depending on the time mostly. Late abortions are obviously a horrible act. It depends what you consider to be Human, and How religious you are

Aborition is a very situation based topic. I can't really judge something when it is being used as birth control one minute and as a life-saver the next. I'd rather not make an opinion when there is so much I really don't know about it.

I consider myself (for the most part) pro-life, but I fully support the *right* to an abortion of any kind. I don't necessarily agree with the action in most cases (although I certainly do understand it in cases of rape or if the mother's life is in danger, etc...) but I definitely do not agree with the government having any control over what anyone does with their own body. Although I would do my best to talk someone out of a partial birth abortion, I don't think it should be illegal. To put this idea into perspective, I feel basically the same way about abortion as I do about suicide or a lesser form of self-mutilation. There are few cases in which I think committing suicide is the "right" thing to do (although, like I feel about abortion, I do feel that there are circumstances where it would be appropriate) but I don't think the gov't should have the right to tell someone that they can't do either (abortion or suicide).

Wow what a disappointment. This is a big debate in our time and no one wants to weigh in on it?

i think it should stay legal because making it illegal is not going to stop the practice. Instead, we'll be using clothes hangers in back alleys, and THATS inhumane. I AM pro-choice, but I think there is a problem with people not caring about getting pregant because there's always abortion. Its a promblem that its really over-done in our society, but that doesnt change my stance at all.

As my friend Paul says, in most cases, abortions save lives.
Let's say some 16 year old guy gets a 16 year old girl knocked up. In the situation, if the teenagers were to keep the kid, so many lives would be ruined. The two teenagers lives would be ruined, along with the lives of their parents. Now I know someone is going to say, "Well, they should have used a condom" which is very true, but in the situation, that is how it goes.
I am pro-choice, but if put in the situation, I don't think I could ever kill a baby. That's just not my style. If a girl needs the abortion, I wouldn't preach against it, and let her make the choice, but if I got a girl pregnant, then I would just suck it up and have the child. It would be my responsibility.

If you could convince her to keep it.

The problem is I think a lot of people have decided that it's an individual decision. My feelings on the issue shouldn't affect you, and vice versa. If anything I think that's the best way to go about it.
