Anybody hear about that teacher (somewhere in Canada) that's in some shit for paddling some kid........because he farted??
The teacher basically said that the boy's farts were so loud and enormous that they rattled the shades on the windows, and that farts like that should not be humanly possible.
Good thing I don't:
a. Go to school there
b. try to avoid beer gas in public places other than friends' houses

I'll see if I can dig up an actual article on this mess because my fiance heard it on the local radio, then told me about it.

oh good lord.
I say the kid needs to learn some respect, and the teacher needs anger management.

I believe teachers are allowed by law to hit students in Canada. It doesn't ever happen, and if it does usually the teacher is booted from the school or there's a lawsuit involved.
It's a weird law but I'm pretty sure they are allowed to hit students.

No, teachers are not allowed to hit kids in Canada. That's why this story would be big news.

hmmm I thought it was a board by board policy... It's not allowed per se, but under law (and i'm pretty sure this is a law but I haven't been able to find anything saying it is or isn't allowed) they could punish a child by hitting them.

The only time a teacher is allowed to use force in Canada is if the student becomes uncontrollable and a threat to themself/others. So if a kid attacked the teacher or something the teacher would be allowed to use as much force as necessary to subdue them. We discussed this with my grade 9 math teacher, lol.. she was a small lady.. she probably would have had to hit a nutso kid with like a bat or something

Well, I guess that much gas could be considered harmful to everyone else in the room/school/province...

This wasn't just a simple "smack" and thats it though, I guess the teacher paddled the kid pretty damn swell.
The kid had a lotta bruises.....I guess his mom found out 'ur something like that and she started the hell raising about it.

the teacher should go to jail, and the kid should go the doctor.
