I don't get this? How is this even a race issue? Police are chasing a speeding motorcyclist at 100mph that happens to be black? I can maybe see the argument of a white cop shooting an unarmed black man, but this? He drove himself into a building! Even if race was the issue, does starting riots really help your cause?

Hey Corey, welcome to America, where everyone is overly sensitive and the media is always looking for new ways to spin a story and its inhabitants are always looking for a way to "make a difference" even if it may be violent. Anyways, it's western Michigan, they aren't as....well off as the Eastern half. For the most part, that side of Michigan is financially depressed and they're rioting because of their shitty living conditions, not over the man on the motorcycle.

It's the dumbest thing ever. The media really is trying to make this out to be a fight between the races, which is just asenine. The cops were doing nothing more than trying to complete their job by pulling a man over for excessive speeding. It's the man's fault for running away and crashing into a building. No one should feel compassion for that jackass, he killed himself.

Now black people are rioting over it. Benton Harbor is a majority black city, and now that people are upset over the man dying, it has to be made an issue of race. If it was a white man in the same situation, would all the white people of the town be rioting and burning down buildings?

cause the cop is from across the river, from a well off predominantly white town. and he's a cop in a predominantly poor black town. not only that but there are claims that white police officers pulled over the superintendent of schools (black man) and beat him. i've heard that one of the police officers that beat this superintendent is a brother of a member of the school board. and this member of the school board and the superintendent don't get along. if this is true (and i doubt it)POLITICS...not race is the reason for this.

Well that changes everything.
