hm. since it's pretty much impossible to avoid being influenced by the media my strategy is to actively consider it. you simply have to think about the motives behind everything before you buy into anything, (which is also impossible to do completely).

Media is for news and entertainment. If you allow it to become anything more, that's pretty sad.

media influences us, our society and our interaction with society. if the media is lying to ya, you're screwed.

i think i did...
the problem with media is that whatever sells, will be shown. we all become meaningless consumers in the eyes of the media-machines. our emotions get toyed around with so they can make money off of us...*sigh*
im a very bitter person

i am influenced by what goes on in my own life, talk about death, life, friends, addiction, marriage, divorce, anything. Like i was influenced by a substitute teacher who practically told us not to believe in god... i wrote a song about him. I wrote a song about my mom and how religious she is even though so much bad shit happens to her. Everything is influence, some positively and some negatively, as far as i'm concerned any influence is good.

we make every decision from influence, nobody can actually say they made a decision on their own

i say i've made decisions on my own... the decisions to love, hate, feel, and be what what I want to be. Nobody else can make those decisions for me. Not even the media.

Yes, but those decisions that you made were influenced by everything around you, including the media.

after i watched that documentary i posted, i thought that i didn't buy things based on the media, but then i realized that i wanted a green adidas jacket because a member of a rock band had one...and why did he have one? because a company was sponsoring the band, so they wore the clothes of that company
the media really does influence you...you just don't realize it.
