I just got an idea: why don't a few CM-er's get together and make a website that reports on 'cool' music. My definition of cool includes: OLP, Countig Crows, Better Than Ezra, Live, Train, singer-songwriter stuff, etc., etc. Not so much with the 'punk' or 'hard rock' or 'rap' or 'r&b' type stuff. If anybody'd want to get in on this, I've been working on a layout; and I know of a pretty good free webhost. I could handle the layout work, etc. About all that would really be needed is people to post daily news, album reviews, show reviews, etc.

I really want to do this, I think it would friggin' rock. What really got me wanting to put this together is I often go to music news sites; but most of the news is lame 'punk' sk8er music crap; and it's hard to find any news on 'cool' music.

Plus, as far as domain hosting goes, I could host it as a sub-header under my site. That would make the site's URL something like "music.tildanet.com", or something to that effect. Let me know if anyone would be up for this.

I personally wouldn't be able to post much news, daily work, etc. Because I'm swamped up the butt with daily work on tildanet.com . But, if some rockin' CM-ers would step up, they could run the site, and then other 'cool' people like us would have a place to check out 'cool' music news, etc.

Wait, how can you completely deny those genres of music? Last time I checked Bright Eyes is a pretty good singer/songwriter kind of band, a hell of a lot better than Better Than Ezra and Train, and I even like the both of them. And don't get me started on how you can completely deny Alkaline Trio because people lump them in the same category as pop/punk. You don't have my support. < thumbs up >

Cool beans. Yeah, I figured I'd offend quite a few with the exclusion of 'punk', etc. And I wasn't necessarilly saying that Train was cool; just that that is the kind of sound that would be covered. I just thought this would be a cool idea, because there isn't really a 'singer songwriter genre-ish' website out there.

I just thought that CM-ers would be the best folk to staff it with, because if a person likes OLP, they usually like stuff around that genre.
