pre-sale vs. regular

i was just wondering if anyone knew how the pre-sale works. if they sell all the good tickets at the pre-sale, then the rest at the regular or they leave some at the pre-sale, and some regular.
when weezer had a pre-sale, all they had were pretty crappy seats (they had floor but not much), i bought the next day at the regular sale, and i got floor. so i wonder if it works the same way

It's a different band, but my friend got front row seats for Great Big Sea at an American Express presale.
So I'm thinking it depends(?)

^ That's my exact question. I NEED to have good tickets, so I really hope the pre-sale thing is good. If you've been to the ticketmaster site you'll notice however that the Ottawa date isn't up there anymore...but I guess it'll be back tommorw? it friggin better be! haha, ya is the password gonna be gravity like the rest or what? I wanna know now!

It's almost 9am now (I think - unless I've got my time differences wrong) and Ottawa's still not on Ticketmaster.
And there's no sign of a Montreal pre-sale anywhere.
Help! Need good seats.

Someone just posted this in response to my worrying on the CC:
I called ticketmaster, and the woman assured me the pre-sale is still on this morning. I guess it will be announced like right at 10am or something. She told me its not on ticketmaster, but its on olp.com only. So just keep watching the news page on there I guess...

Still waiting for Ottawa pre-sale.
I want to go home (should have left an hour ago) but I'm too scared of missing it.
Apparently they're waiting for Ticketmaster to do something.
