Gah my parents' alma mater George Washington, which had the best record in the entirety of the NCAA division I this year, got screwed. They only got a #8 seed, and if they win in the first round they're stuck playing Duke in Greensboro, which is practically Duke's second home. Ugh. I HATE DUKE.
I'm thinking either Nova or UConn to win, but I'm not sure yet...

i almost picked george washington to upset, but then i realized they havent proven anything against quality opponents. so i picked iowa to upset.

I think it's also not definite yet whether GW's star is going to be back from his injury for the tourney. It'd be nice, but I dunno...
I'd actually go with Syracuse to upset, the way they've been playing. That is assuming they can keep it up.
I'm waiting to see if Allen Ray is gonna be cleared to play to make my UConn vs. Nova decision.

I can't see how anyone would pick Villanova after their star player literally had his eyeball ripped from its socket. It was just hanging out there. Quite possibly one of the more disturbing things I've seen.

I saw that too. It almost made me throwup. Though miraculously he's apparently fine. I'm waiting to hear how well he can play before I make my final picks. If he's not doing well, I'll probably pick UNC over Nova in that region.
And how can anyone not love college basketball? March Madness is one of the most exciting sports times in the world!

VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) -- With or without goggles, Allan Ray should be back on the court this week.
Three days after a scary eye injury left the senior guard fearing he'd be blind, Ray was cleared to practice Monday and is expected to play for No. 2 Villanova in the NCAA tournament.
Ray might not even wear protective goggles after he was hit hard in his right eye at the Big East tournament Friday night.
"It's his choice," Villanova coach Jay Wright said of the eye gear. "He looks great. His vision is a lot better."
Ray received full clearance to participate in all drills after seeing a specialist on Monday. He's expected to join the Wildcats on the court Wednesday. Wright plans a light practice Tuesday.

I know he's been cleared (I actually just read that article), but that doesn't mean he's gonna be full strength. And if he's not full strength, that could have a big impact on how far they make it.
