That you hoist this "We don't have his DNA" flag up on high and salute it so wildly without even pausing to consider where we may have gotten his DNA from does make you dumb, yes. That you don't even show the common courtesy to think about the questions you are flinging at others with such aplomb shows a definitive lack of any kind of thought process that would in some way elevate your opinion above that of even the most pedestrian of forum goers, and generally leaves little reason to give two hairy shits about anything you have to say.

Blah blah blah, I made a mistake and didn't think they'd have a prisoner spit in a cup or something of the sort. Get the fuck over it man.

I'm done exams so I decided to read the Geneva Convention in whole.
http://www.unhchr.ch/html/menu3/b/91.htm

So far I've found 7 clear cut crimes, which have defied the Geneva Convention, which have been committed by the USA (recently against Saddam, and at Guantanamo Bay).

3.1.c) The following acts are and shall remain prohibited at any time and in any place whatsoever... Outrages upon personal dignity, in particular, humiliating and degrading treatment

13. Prisoners of war must at all times be humanely treated. Prisoners of war must at all times be protected, particularly against acts of violence or intimidation and against insults and public curiosity.

17. No physical or mental torture, nor any other form of coercion, may be inflicted on prisoners of war to secure from them information of any kind whatever.

21. The Detaining Power may subject prisoners of war to internment. Subject to the provisions of the present Convention relative to penal and disciplinary sanctions, prisoners of war may not be held in close confinement except where necessary to safeguard their health and then only during the continuation of the circumstances which make such confinement necessary.

22. Prisoners of war may be interned only in premises...affording every guarantee of hygiene and healthfulness. Except in particular cases which are justified by the interest of the prisoners themselves, they shall not be interned in penitentiaries.

25. Prisoners of war shall be quartered under conditions as favourable as those for the forces of the Detaining Power who are billeted in the same area. The said conditions shall make allowance for the habits and customs of the prisoners and shall in no case be prejudicial to their health.

38. While respecting the individual preferences of every prisoner, the Detaining Power shall encourage the practice of intellectual, educational, and recreational pursuits, sports and games amongst prisoners, and shall take the measures necessary to ensure the exercise thereof by providing them with adequate premises and necessary equipment. Prisoners shall have opportunities for taking physical exercise, including sports and games, and for being out of doors. Sufficient open spaces shall be provided for this purpose in all camps.

Not only this but by invading Iraq, the USA commited the "Supreme International Crime" as defined by the Nuremburg Trials, which was what the Nazis were tried for.

Sickening isn't it?

On a completely unrelated note, reading all that makes me think of "Hogan's Heros." Haha, that Hogan was always using the Geneva convention to pull the wool over Klink and Schultz' eyes. :D

Venom must've been joking when he wrote:We have every right to interrogate him. He is a POW and even if we are "occupiers" we have the right to hold him. READ THE GENEVA CONVENTIONS (article 2 pertains to occupation

you of all people invoking the geneva convention?! perhaps <i>you</i> should read article 2 and try and find at least one section which israel does not <i>wantonly violate every day</i>.

I'm a hippie? am not!

i hate hippies!

Jim - I'm sure Venom will be quick to point out that we have no proof that the US has been torturing Saddam, and with respect to his treatment, i'm sure he's being treated like what he is: a world leader. I don't think they're torturing him or making him spend time in a dark cell that smells of urine.

but who knows? i've been wrong before.

oh I know Saddam is probably being treated well, but the prisoners in guantanamo bay sure aren't. I probably should have pointed out which ones apply to whom but either way they're still violations, and should be dealt with.

The US not sure if it is indeed Saddam's DNA?

The same guys that hae tanks that go over 100 mph and deadeye targets miles away?

The same guys that can drop bombs UNDER buildings causing them to implode?

The same guys that have jets that fly straight up and make barrel rolls on a dime?

You honestly don't think the CIA has every piece of information on this guy down to how many times he craps a day?

Please....

I've got to agree that they have his DNA, but if it turned out that the DNA test showed that this was in fact just one of Saddam's look alikes, I highly doubt they would release that information. It would be a massive blow to the Bush Administration. They've lied already about many things, whats another one right?
