Yes Ms Carson, autotune does suck. To the point of no return.

Haha, she had the option, she choose to go with me. I think she did enjoy it - and I did warn her before we went that it may not be the concert she thinks it will be. Since we are from Chantal's hometown it helps too, she knew who she was and knew the music. Anyways, I am sure I will have to take her to something she will enjoy more and I won't so much so she'll get even then. Way to crush my dreams calling me old and all!Random Name wrote:Why would you do that to the poor girl?! You're like the old man who's like "this is real music! now sit down, shut up and listen!" hahahaha. Poor kid. All she wanted was to see a cool, fun show and you brought her to see an adult-contemporary act. Good job. Way to crush her dreams.MsCarson79 wrote: I took a 12 year old girl who wants to be a singer to a Chantal Kreviazuk concert...but you know what - she wants to be a singer for the fame, money, light shows and costume changes (all of which don't happen at a CK concert) - not the music. Trying to get her to learn an instrument is frustrating - she doesn't think its necessary and she loves Lady Gaga. I think its great if she is inspiring young kids to love music (I am not a music snob and will give any music a chance) but I have not seen her demonstrate her musical ability (which I'm not doubting she has), just some weird ass fashion statements.
But how do you know who actually has talent anymore?faninor wrote:Autotune doesn't suck, it just shouldn't be a crutch for bad singing and needs to not be so extremely overused.

Haha, I'm guilty of this too. Kids will be kids. Regardless of what you impose on them, they'll reach their teens and denounce almost all of it, anyway.Random Name wrote:Why would you do that to the poor girl?! Live performances without a microphone would be the best way.MsCarson79 wrote:But how do you know who actually has talent anymore?faninor wrote:Autotune doesn't suck, it just shouldn't be a crutch for bad singing and needs to not be so extremely overused.

I can overlook that as long as your not still sliding down them on your bum.M2 wrote:I realized today I still run up the stairs using my feet AND hands, even though I'm no longer 4.

YOU GUYS.
I've been so good with my grammar-naziness. However...two posts in a row with two of my biggest irks need to be commented on!
"Gets" does not have an apostrophe. If Neil were around, he would get yelled at for errant apostrophe use.
And the second issue...in the above post, "as long as your not" should be "as long as you're not".
And I'm done. I have restrained myself upon spotting many things, but...sorry, guys, I just couldn't help myself this time.
I'll go back to hiding for awhile again.
