you know when you go to a cashier at a store and they ask if you found everything okay? what if you say no? do they have to get someone to help you find that item? hmmmmm. cause people generally just say yes, right? right.

as a former retail employee, what people are "supposed" to do if someone answers no is call another employee to run and get whatever item is missing, or otherwise check to see if the store has it. at hmv it was computer searches (easy), at zellers it was someone having to physically go and check the location. but we did it.

depends on the cashier. and the customer's reply to the cashier asking 'oh, what was the problem?'

i know i've had so many customers say 'oh, nevermind. it's nothing. don't worry about it'. well then why did you say you didn't find everything ok if you don't even care about it anyway?

i've gone out of my way to fix stuff that customers say they had problems with, or find something they couldn't find. however...many other people i've worked with just ignore the customer when they say everything wasn't ok.

i usually ask what they were looking for, and if they want to me to get someone down for them to give them a hand. i'm not on cash very often, so it's only happened to me once. turned out we didn't carry the product they wanted

the store is nice and small so i never had to ask.. plus the old folks (theres a retirement home nearby.. ("a retirement home in florida?! wtf?!" i know shocking).. anyways.. the old folks would ask about the most random/useless things and buy them or anything else random and useless without me helping so i didnt have to move much and/or ask
