Why don't you just drop it? There is a reason I got rid of my posts you know. But no, you drag it out to another page. People, drop it. This thread isn't about me, but Alex.

Yes, I had decent parents, considering my mom suffers from depression (as do I) and my dad died when I was 14, leaving my mom severely depressed and a very jaded and negative person. I consider myself lucky for having 2 parents that loved me. My luck stops there though.

i hate my father. for the past two weeks, things have gotten pretty crappy at my house, so i have been spending most of my time at my friend matt's house. i spent the whole weekend there. i've been saving up my money since i was 16, and after highschool, i'm moving out.

My dad abused my brothers, but apparantly I got off easy... Probably since I'm a girl and probably because he doesn't get drunk all the time anymore.

Still... I think it's pretty bad if you have to be completely terrified of your father because it doesn't take much to set him off...

I posted something about this in my journal once and one of my friends said "At least you have a father." I'd rather not have a father than have one who makes me feel like shit.

I hope that everything gets better... for everyone who has problems at home because yours are probably worse than mine.

teenagers thinking that nobody understands them is a normal thing that teenagers go through.

there's a term for it... *searches through textbook*

Oooo.... Bethany, can you tell me what that is. It's a word that I would become all to familiar with.

yes...

personal fable- teenagers are so sure that others are observing and thinking about them , they develop an inflated opinion of their own importance. Many adolescents view themselves as reaching great heights of glory as well as sinking to unusual depths of despair-experiences that others could not possibly understand

Are you sure only teenagers have that? I think teenages only begin to face this problem. It doesn't dissipate as we get older in fact it escalates, but we just become more mature and more capable of coping with it. So I don't think it's a fair generalization on teenagers.

yay me arguing for the sake of arguing, I told you guys I'm gonna start spamming!

I think it's that when you get older, you realize that you're not unique and special, and nobody really cares about you.

that, and you understand that you're problems aren't that bad, and many people experience similar things in their lives.

i dunno, I don't question what the book tells me. I just learn it and take the test.
yeah. that sounds bad. I should question authority, shouldn't I?
Maybe it's that I don't care enough.
meh.

In the words of Amanda Marshall...Everybody's got a story that can break your heart.
I guess it is not possible to relate to most of you as I have parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends who go out on the limb for me whenever I need it. I understand it's tough but it's not like you can't go to people for help. Thats why schools have counsellors, or you can go to a doctor, the resources are endless. I don't know about you guys but my school provides a list of almost 100 phone numbers that you can call for nearly any situation you can think of. People today are too damn afraid to look for help and instead try to resolve everything themselves when they (or in this thread's case, their parents) can be getting help. There's always an answer for those who seek it, and if you don't attempt to do so, and things are extremely bad than don't complain.

attention:

other people (therapists) can not help you solve your problems. it's up to you to do that.
