Made To Heal is my favorite OLP song. I wish I had gotten to hear it live.

Oooh! I feel like the little post that could lol.

My ultimate live track would prolly be Birdman (which I've seen, amazing) or Teardrop/Carnival, which I haven't, but I've got a good live mp3 of it.

Has Steve been whipping out some Edge-like solos? Is Raine's lyrical style beginning to resemble Bono's? Any info at all while I sit here waiting for the new album to come out would be awesome.
I personally think from the songs I heard that Future, Angels and Boy have an U2 feel to them. I am a U2 fan for over 25 years now. I can see the influence on OLP. For me it is because I can hear some U2 songs in the OLP songs.. Like at any minute I expect them to break out into With Or Without You, or Bad.. OLP have always had a slight U2 influence to their sound..Naveed is full of it.
As for Raine's lyrics.> He has gotten a bit more political in the sense that he sings about what he feels and knows and in away ask the listener to think and make up their own mind. Bono is political in some of his lyrics Raine is also a passionate singer/songwriter. While Steve maynot be exactly whipping out Edge like solos, the playing ablity is difinitely there. .It amazing how he is playing the keys more, then switching to guitar. Edge does this on a few U2 songs..

Also the fact that Raine told me in 03', they were trying to sound a bit old school U2 on this cd doesn't hurt..

that is my take on it.. others may think differently.

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

LOL. Hiya:) I'm afraid I'm may have smoked a bit too much of a certain leafy green substance in my younger years to remember much of anything, except for how to get the diner and cool guitar solos of course

I've tried to like U2 so many times, and I do enjoy some of their songs. You know when a certain celebrity annoys the crap out of you for no real reason? I'm kinda like that w/Bono (dont get me wrong, he's a good singer and he deserves a standing ovation for all the humanitarian work he's done).

I remember watching an interview with the band a few years ago and Bono constantly referred to and talked to the Edge by actually saying "The Edge" everytime he adressed him, like "What are you doing the Edge?" and I remember it annoying me so much that I wanted to hit the t.v. and tell him to stop reffering to him in the third person lol.

That's true we usually scare them off.

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

If it was, we don't have it. :crying: It was only played 5 times ever that we know of... all in Nov/Dec 2002. It was absolutely fantastic.

And yes, feel sorry me for not seeing OLP earlier. :( I wish I'd had concert buddies to go see OLP with before 2002.
