oh, i did this back in may/juneish, when art was still compulsory. i still wish i could fit it in my schedule. :( but now it's something i can only do in my own time, with my own resources. ie, i am confined to drawing pictures from now on. unless i join photography club--they give you free supplies, and peanut butter cookies!

Yeah, I am too, if you don't mind. I'll brag to everyone who uses my computer about how I know the really cool artist who made it.

more technicalities!
an excessive amount of work went into this experiment, and in the end, i developed it crappily. such is life.
firstly i used a digital camera to take a picture of one of my piano books with random cds and flower petals and stuff (the theme i had to cover was Nostalgia). i can't find the original picture now. anyway, i took that picture and added photoshop effects to make this photo negative...

Image

thennn, i used this photo negative over photo paper to create this.

Image

actually, i think screwing up in the developing process helped to make the picture look a lot more forgotten and wistful. it's neat. and the purple in the top left corner is evidence that this photo will disintegrate over a few years...it's what happens when you mess up with developing chemicals. but i've got a soft copy to keep forever, which isn't so bad.

PHOTOBUCKET IS COOPERATING TONIGHT!!!

okay, here's another. i love it, it's mind-blowing. try looking at it from different angles. it's the best feeling in the world to find pictures like this, serendipitously, from the depths of hundreds of summer vacation shots.

Image

what really does it for me is that i got the two people in there completely by accident.

That's awesome. At first glance, I thought it was a stone wall with green moss or something. But the moss was reflecting the sky, so that didn't make sense. I couldn't for the life of me figure it out, until I tilted my head sideways.

Looking at it now, I can't even remotely tell how I thought it was a wall.

Long story short, I love it! I'm crazy, but I love it!
