Ya that would be great, pay to get married here, and then they could honeymoon here too. Canada makes money and they get married everyones happy.

Well I just mean that by coming here to get married they would have to spend money on hotels, restaurants and other businesses. Buying a marriage license is the last thing I was thinking of.

True, but it's still money for canada, 4000 marriage licenses thats nothing to sneeze at.

The important thing is they could get married here if they wanted to.

The non-important thing is they could get married here if they wanted to.

What do morals have to do with the bible? Maybe morals are a bad word, but alot of the parables in the Bible are basically just based on good sense and morals. Some others may not be so obvious, like the law in question. I was just pointing out that in the Bible does say to seperate church and government, but WHERE do the laws come from if they aren't from God? I'm getting to the point where I just don't care, let everyone get married. They will never be able to get married the way I want to get married, so fine by me if they get married civily. The only thing I still have troubles with is adoption, but then I think about all the kids that don't have anyone. Eh, I'm tired.

i know of a lesbian couple who have adopted two Chinese girls here. they're neighbours of a friend's. they love the two girls just as much as any other parent. i mean they're trying to learn more about the Chinese culture so that they don't lose their heritage as well as exposing them to many different types of cultures here in Toronto. i just see it as these two girls got a chance to have a loving family, esp. w/ the situation in China regarding girls. if people are uncomfortable w/ that, then fine. that's your point of view. but for me, gays and lesbians are still people and who are we to impose certain views on them.

Why not let them get married and if the kids are comfortbale living with gay or lesbian people then thats fine. It's not like their gonna be forced into be gay or something by living with them so the kids get a good home and a loving family. Everyone is happy.

I'm too lazy to read the rest of the thread (it is really long) so sorry if this has already been said. But aren't church and state meant to be separate in the US? Cos this whole thing is just crazy if they are. I'm fine with churches not marrying gays or lesbians, but for the government or whoever not because of preseumably religious reasons (whether explicitly so or not) is then just wrong.

I don't have the time to go through the last few days but two major things were in thenews here.

All the couples who got married in San Fran are not voided. (same sex ones)

and the Governor of New Jersey had a press conference saying he had an affair witha man.

he is married witha child. he is also leaving his job as governor.

when did the whole san fran thing come up? was it in the news today?

all of this news is a few days old. There were some other reasons why the governor resigned, not just because he was a closet homosexual.

One of which being the affair period. Man or woman, something like that pretty much ruins your career or at the least your reputation.

well, he is also being sued for sexual harrassment. i could care less if he's gay or not. as long as it doesn't affect his job it really shouldn't matter.

Oh yeah, that too. Sexual harrassment and affairs are two things no politician should do.

Well nobody should do it. But you know what I mean.

He should get the same shame for having an affair as a heterosexual.

with a dash of more shame because of the allegations of sexual misconduct. (the harassment.)
