I dunno bout ya'll......I'm planning on having my 360 and my shiny new Wii next to the sucker. Both systems for the price of that overrated Ps3.

Actually the PS3's 20 GB version is the exact same price as the Premium bundle of the 360.

The dumbest thing Nintendo's doing with the Wii, is releasing a version that can play DVDs sometime in 2007. No one needs the DVD playback capability. Seriously. Almost everyone has a DVD player in some form or another. Especially gamers with their last gen systems and if not that, then at least in your computer.

It's not a necessary add-on... I also don't think it'll entice anyone to wait for that version of the Wii to come out either!

You can by a premium 360, and the Wii, for only appx 50 bucks (plus tax) more than the 60GB PS3.

Besides....latest screen shots are showing the PS3 is weaker than people think.

I get to play a PS3 and Need For Speed: Carbon (at least that, anyway, dunno what other game are being bought with the system) on release day.

Here in Canada, the 360 premium bundle at launch was 500 Canadian, it still is, but it has games that come with it now. The core bundle was 400. The PS3 20GB is 500 Canadian (550 at some places, but they don't count because they're not the cheapest) just like the 360 Premium bundle, and the 60 GB PS3 is 650 Canadian. So, the premium bundle 360 (with a 20gb HDD for those who don't know the dif between the core and premium Xbox packs) and the 20GB PS3 are the exact same price as far as launch prices are concerned.

No, the Wii's been scheduled for release on the 19th, two days after the PS3. It's been like that for quite a while now.

Here it would be about 780 dollars before tax (865 dollars after tax) for the Premium Xbox 360 and a Wii (The Wii is selling for approx 280). The core bundle 360 doesn't count because it's a piece of crap and you can't even play online or anything with it. So I'm not even going to calculate that one. Especially since to get the HDD and extras to add up to the premium bundle, it will actually cost you even more than just buying the premium bundle right away.

The 60GB PS3 however, is 650 before tax (721 dollars after tax) Which is around a 145 dollar difference.


And now I'm curious to know which 360 owners are playing GEARS OF WAR. I'm absolutely loving it right now especially the online Versus mode. Extremely fun. There are a few glitches they need to fix up, as well as making the online matchmaking menus easier to navigate so that you can travel or enter games as a group of 4 or pass the host to someone else instead of making everyone lose their connection to the game and end up back in the main online menu.

I really wish you could do more than 4 on 4, but they'd need bigger maps for that I'd think.

Also, some multiplayer beta maps of Halo 3 will be available for testing on Xbox Live in the spring of 2007! That will be super awesome.

Not only that!! Soon, not sure exactly when, but soon they're going to be releasing new Halo 2 maps!! The only catch is that they're only going to be useable on the 360. I'm still happy though I haven't played Halo online in a long time and I always like new maps. I just hope they're free. I think I heard they will be, but I'm not sure. It wouldn't make sense to charge for em since the game's so old now and we're only a year away from Halo 3.

Also, one final Halo 3 comment, they'll be releasing the game in 3 different versions. The regular edition, the Collector's edition (similar to the silver case for Halo 2) and the Legendary edition which includes the collector's edition and an actual Spartan replica helmet... I read it's not some small collectible but a real helmet that you can wear... Although I'm sure if you have a huge head it might not fit... I haven't seen any pics of the thing yet... So I'm not sure how it'll fit exactly.

So, I played Call of Duty 3 and Ridge Racer 7 on a brand spankin' new PS3 today.

Wow.

The graphics are beautiful, and I know the motion sensor on the Sixaxis controller will be overshadowed by the Wii, but they use it so well in COD 3. You have to shake it around in 'struggles' kind of like the interactive cutscenes in RE4, you can hold it upright and move it like a steering wheel to steer the jeep, and if you jerk one side forwards quickly you use it to bash people with your gun. Plus you need to turn it around and stuff to set C4 charges. It's great.

Plus, just... all the functionality on the console, it's amazing. Literally no load times at all since it doesn't even have to access the CD, it just downloads all the info to the HDD, you can browse the internet, download games and demos from the Sony store. I really don't know how much of that has been done before, since I never bought any attachments for my PS2 to go online or anything and I've never used any of the X-Box's online features (being that I've played it probably a grand total of 2 hours, ever), but just the way everything's set up really impressed me.

I'm not even saying this as a rabid Sony fan, I was legitimately impressed because it had more features than I was expecting. Well worth the price, if you ask me (especially given that a standalone Blu-ray player is about a grand).

Just about everyone loses money on console sales- they make it up with game licensing.

Yeah....I heard about all the Halo news.....I can't wait for the new Halo2 maps; that's gonna be sweet. And, to be able to beta test Halo3, that's gonna be kick ass, too. Oh, and the new Halo2 maps are NOT going to be free; I believe I got that confirmed, somewhere. They plan on charging through the marketplace for it cuz only people with 360's will be able to get the new maps; kinda shitty for Xbox owners.

And....I'm not gonna pay 99.99 for Halo3 "Legendary Edition" cuz thats just nuts.

I really like Gears a lot. If you start on casual mode, you can play single player and beat it in about 7 hours. However, the next two difficulties, Hardcore and Insane are almost impossible to play solo. It's a totally different game on those difficulties as you rely on your teammates to revive you if you get killed and the AI partners don't do it often. That's one of the reasons you can play the story mode (campaign mode) online. So that if you don't have anyone to play split screen on you can still play hardcore and insane. You also actually HAVE to use cover wisely, flank the enemies and be very accurate on the tougher difficulties. On casual you can run and shoot a lot and it doesn't seem like that deep of a game. Until you actually step up the difficulty. The graphics are also by far the best graphics for any 360 game so far.

As for my gamertag I'm just using a one month trial right now. I have two 12 month cards I'm saving with my bro, for when Halo 3 gets closer, but we'll probably activate one once this month one is up so that I can still play Gears online. The gamertag I actually use even though it's only silver right now, is Power Daniels though. I used to have a kickass one called Super Magnum PI back when Halo 2 was new, but it expired and they won't let me have it back. I had Taylor on my friends list back then too.

As for the 99 bucks for the legendary version of Halo 3. Depending on how cool the helmet is, I might buy it, I'm going to get the collector's edition anyway, so if the helmet is cool it might be worth the few extra dollars.
