Except that, with the scare of 9/11 several years in the past, people are pulling out of "anything to save us from doom" mode and are questioning such things... several parts of the Patriot Act have been repealed, or are in the process of, I think. Don't quote me on that, though.

For a man to run for office, and a man to get into office are two different things. If a foreigner wants to run, they have to compete with the other candidates in the party and win their party. If a party thinks a foreigner is good enough, then the country gets to decide, and if they don't like it they can vote 100% for the other candidate.

Umm... I'd just like to point out that not all of us dig the "Patriot Act"... but we really don't have a choice about it.

oh I know. But a lot of people don't care, or didn't seem to care when it was implemented. I would never assume that 100% of a country is either for or against something.

I honestly think it's just ignorance. People have no idea what it is/does, they just hear the words "Patriot Act", which sound nice (obviously that was done on purpose) and just say "OK, cool".

I really wish the news told us about these things instead of the crap fluff pieces they air. Course, nobody would watch that. *stabs people's priorities*
