yea, i am exactly the same way. i've been on the pill since i've been 16 because i used to get really bad cramps. so bad to the point that i had to leave school early or not go at all. (heh, and why am i complaining about that) but seriously, they got so bad that i would throw up constantly and had fainting spells becuase i couldn't take the pain. but since i have been on the pill, i have had none of that. and i haven't had any bad side effects.

You girls who haven't had side affects from the pill are INCREDIBLY lucky. I had... well, let's go through the list from that article...
The pill has a lot of side affects including loss of sexual appetite,
Got that lovely one after getting off the pill.

Never went away. Heh. Gotta love permanent side affects.

depression
Hmm... I don't remember if I was depressed when I was on the pill or not. It was a few years ago that I was on the pill.
some people have even experienced pregnancy related problems like mood swings and morning sickness.
MORNING SICKNESS IS THE MOST EVIL THING EVER!!!!!!

Course, I HATE HATE HATE vomitting. It's not nice having pregnancy side affects when you're not freaking pregnant.
I think I gained a little weight when I went on it, too... though, that might've just been because I graduated high school and became a bum at about the same time.
So yeah, I'm completely for this "male pill". If there's no side affects, then why shouldn't guys take the responsibility?

His grades were a little low, his athletic skills were poor, and he was only half the size of the other players. But he had the drive and the spirit of 5 people and has set his sights upon joining the team.

if the side effects are that bad from the pill they'd switch you to another one until they found one that suited you .. they're not going to keep you on a pill that's causing depression and vomiting everyday
there's more than one kind of birth control pill ..

I don't see any problems with a male pill/injection. The more protection against unwanted pregnancies, the better. However, could possibly lead to more STD's as guys will rely less on condoms and more on "the pill." Although most of us "intelligent" people realize the pill won't stop STDs, I guarantee most of the population, especially guys who are about to get some..., will bypass the condom because they think they're "covered" by the pill. No matter what they do, people are still stupid and will find ways to create unwanted babies and kill themselves with infections.
And as for side effects of the female pill, none of my female friends have mentioned experiencing any problems. Hmm... except bigger boobs, which I personally don't consider a negative side effect =P

When my doctor prescribed the pill for me, I was told the side effects would be normal if I got them. Heck, it was even in my 29837452879352735 page long booklet that came with them whenever I filled the prescription that these things could happen, and not to worry if they did.

i'm just saying if the side effects are that bad for you .. you can ask to try a different pill .. they're not going to keep you on a pill that's giving you that many problems .. my doctors were pretty adamant about that .. i dunno *shrugs*
