Time travel is cheesy.
This isn't time travel.
So, that's the problem.
If they take the technical stuff out of the movie, it will be another cheesy time travel movie.
If they leave it all in, it won't.

but but....puney minds that decide turning books into movies cant handle complicated explanations (which is why someone else write it in the first place) so they make it time travel.

From various previews I've seen, Timeline looks incredibly cheesy to me.
